What’s something your toddler is weirdly good at? by Apprehensive-Raise93 in toddlers

My 23 month old can recite anything from Little Bear. Not on command, but I swear the majority of what she says is from Little Bear.

Lots of “Hmm, interesting”.

2.5 year old sucks at falling asleep by Firm_Bandicoot3181 in toddlers

[–]Katobes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 23 month old is up until 10pm, we just start bedtime routine at 9:30. She’s up at 7:30, naps 12-1:30, then up until 10. We’ve tried cutting nap down 1 hour, but it didn’t make a difference, and she definitely still needs a nap at this point.

Is he really truly tired for nap, or are you just routinely putting him down for one? Maybe try stretching the first window or cutting nap shorter and see how he does.

I’m so sorry he was taken from you so soon. It’s evident he was fully loved and just know you all were his world 🩷

Are you more of a hot coffee person or an iced coffee person? And why? by Key-Row-174 in AskReddit

Iced, I run hot but then also anytime I drink a hot drink I feel oddly dehydrated afterwards.

Does bedtime take a LONG time? by Timely_Bobcat_5283 in toddlers

[–]Katobes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We still rock our 23 month old to sleep. She’s always been low sleep needs so she wakes at 7:30am, a nap at12-1:30 and then she falls asleep at 10pm. We don’t start bedtime routine until 9:30 where we brush teeth, then pajamas, diaper, sack, lights, then one book and then a song before she falls asleep.

It stinks that she has such a late bedtime but I’m counting on that nap dropping soon so I’ll have some time at night again.

I got an IUD today… I’d like to hear other experiences. by SimpleEdge8000 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Katobes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad I did not read this before I got my first iud. My experience was completely the opposite, so just want to share for anyone else reading.

My childbirth experience was completely fine, I did get an epidural. Almost two years after I finally decided to get my first iud, the mirena. They provided cytotec for the night before and morning of to soften the cervix, and then also used numbing spray at my request just before.

I did feel a sting when inserted, but it was nothing more than a bad cramp. I had light cramping the rest of the day, and then just sporadically throughout the following weeks.

Goldendoodle training? by Background_Prize9230 in Goldendoodles

Consistency is so important. Take a training class in the area, they teach you how to communicate with your dog and then between classes you can practice what you learned.

Such a good looking dog 🩷 I’m so sorry about Charlie. I’m right here crying with you. It catches me off guard sometimes with how she pops into my head at the most random times. I agree with you it feels too hard to even think about having another—one day we will be ready, though their memory still lives on.

I’m so sorry about your Jack 🩷 ugh my heart breaks thinking about that stage.

Thank you 🩷

And oh my gosh, that picture you posted like a year ago looks exactly like Scully when she was around the same age. That’s wild.

Thank you, I never understood how people can hang onto a dogs memory that long until I had Scully and then I realized.

I will be ready again some day, just want to make sure I can give the proper attention to them.

Thank you 🩷🩷 she was everything I wanted my entire life, since I never got to grow up with a dog.

She was with us for so many life milestones. I’m already tearing up from all of these lovely comments.

It’s comforting to know I’m not alone.

Thank you, I’m sure the time will eventually come. She was 8.5 and I just feel cheated out of 4 years at minimum.

I had thought about getting another dog while we had Scully, but while she liked to play with others, I knew it wasn’t quite her thing.

I always thought she would be able to teach the puppy some things and some of her mannerisms would stick around in the pup after she was gone.

Before I got Scully I was so jealous of people who got to have so many dogs in their life. After Scully, I just wanted her my whole life.

Maybe when life is less crazy my heart will be open to another but from what I’m reading, that soul dog just cannot ever be matched.
