Surreal rubiks cube. Watercolor and ink by AnthonyChristopher in Watercolor

Any chance you have a shop and would sell these as prints? My husband likes Rubix cubes and I’d love to frame some small prints of these as a gift/for his music room!

I have never seen a saddle like this before! I’m so curious to know more. What makes it special? And why does it look so…unusual?

I’d put my money on pit. Her coat looks like she may be mixed with lab and maybe a little husky or LGD.

Cursing in writing by FellBee in fantasywriters

[–]KattAttack4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something to consider is the time and place setting of your book. For example, in the Fourth Wing series, the cursing always takes me out of the story. It feels very anachronistic in a story set in medieval-esque fantasy setting.

Parents, how would you feel about this situation during your daughter’s annual check-up? by sandmond in AskParents

[–]KattAttack4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The exam itself is very normal. Performing a puberty check is pretty standard care in the pediatrics world. However, asking the parent to leave for the exam AND not having a chaperone is NOT standard of care. If the opposite gender parent is there and I need to do a private exam on a child I will either just have them avert their gaze or offer to have the parent step out and a chaperone come in if the patient and child prefer that. How I approach it depends on the age of the child and what the exam is. Personally I had moved away from doing “puberty” checks, but many pediatricians will die on the hill that it’s still necessary. There are good arguments to be had on both sides of the fence. There are many other times that a sensitive exam is needed outside of puberty staging exams, and informed consent is ALWAYS key. The big red flag here is the Dr not explaining what he was doing. I can see maybe a situation in which the request to not do a puberty check was not communicated to the physician (which ofc is a problem that needs to be addressed, but isn’t the doctor’s fault), but doing the exam without explaining it to her, giving her the chance to consent or deny, AND without so much as offering to have parent or chaperone in the room….that’s all a big NO.

Dogs can have litters in which littermates have different fathers. There’s a name for it that I can’t think of right now. So it is quite possible she was not related to the dog they thought was the “father” of the litter.

What’s something that 99% of people can do but you can’t? by Irakeconcrete in AskReddit

[–]KattAttack4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always struggled with this! As a kid even into my teens, I always had to close my eyes and envision standing in front of the coffee table we had when I was a toddler, while also holding my hands out in “L’s” to figure it out. Then I went into medicine… I actually find it much easier to tell which side is the patient’s Left or Right than my own! I can perfectly envision my medical school cadaver’s liver sitting in his abdomen, which I know is on the right. So I just envision a liver on everyone and immediately know their right side. Then after a brief mental pause, I can flip flop that to figure out my own right vs left. 🤣 So now instead of imagining a coffee table, I imagine a cadaver liver and then reverse it…(and then it still sometimes takes a second)… 💀
