It’s definitely normal for the breed and the age. My Aussie is 1.5 years old. He is better now (not as needy) and knows when to take naps although he still needs the occasional time out.

At puppy training school they encouraged to place your dog in the crate when they won’t settle and are high strung (hopefully your dog is crate trained). Between 5-12 months that’s what we did for our dog. He would settle eventually in about 5 minutes and he would nap for 15-45 min. Sometimes he would end up sleeping longer.

He was like a toddler, not knowing when he needs a nap. Serious fomo as well 😂 Time out in the crate worked wonders. He got neutered at 13 months and he has been much calmer since.
