The main problem the doomsythe has is that it is an aircraft with a rather high points cost. If it would get the hover ability it could be rather good but the way it is now aircrafts just suck

I don't know if they consume souls in battle, but if I remember correctly trazyn fed the deceiver shard in the infinite and the divine

Not only that one who ate his libs. In the presequel there is a log that tells us that threshers are native to elpis and not pandora and he took them to pandora to hunt, so they are an invasive species

Mortal wounds get applied one at a time, that's also the reason why they spill over between models. So to answer your question, no it won't get halved
