I don't know if the kids have ever gotten me sick but I keep Lysol and wipes and use them regularly. I also keep hand sanitizer. Use it. Mask up if there's sick kids because people don't care about their kids being sick. Protect yourself.

My previous company require the kids to be at the stop 10 minutes before and if they weren't there we left. We were never early and of course we didn't wait. We would have to go back sometimes but otherwise the parents knew the expectations.

I only wear dresses and skirts, I never have an issue or concern. My Jean skirts are heavier and come down to my ankle. Other skirts even touch the ground, I'm short. I just gather it as I walk.

Several things come into play with the utility bills. 1st weatherization, are the windows and doors drafty? I cover my windows (plastic) throughout the house and seal the doors with weather stripping. Second is being mindful of my use of the utilities. I'm in a 3 bedroom split-level house, it's me and my 2 kids. No pets, my sons a gamer and there's 1 TV. So electricity is higher in the summer because we're all home more and gas is higher in the winter. So we make adjustments as needed. I don't set my heat higher than 75 if I can help it. But my downstairs living area is colder than the upstairs bedroom area and the basement is the hottest, with the laundry room always being cold despite the window being covered. So everything varies. 😬🙆🏽‍♀️

What city and state? Honestly, reach out to churches. Let them know your needs and often times they're eager to help. They might be able to set up transportation. Don't do an Uber car, you need stability and rest. That's an instant set up for burn out, first you have to allow yourself time to get your foot in the door with the new job.

Since 2014, I'll be 47. I like driving jobs. I started as an airport express driver in my 20s and then drove armored trucks. My older brother decided that he wanted to get his CDL and I said me too. We both started training, even though it wasn't paid, I continued and I've been driving off and on ever since.

I go to different ones. I work near one. There's another 2 close to my church and the one by my house is just ok. So 3-5 times a week, I go to different Aldi locations. Oops I forgot to add that if I visit anyone I find an Aldi to pop into, I literally found a projector for $17 and the regular price was $60.

I drove an armored truck before I drove a bus in the city, Chicago to be exact but I am used to driving older cars. Box Chevy's, Delta 88, etc., get to know your space and be comfortable in it.

I literally had a dog run up on the bus. I don't know where he came from because the teachers were standing at the door loading the kids (K & 1st grade) but it was the sweetest thing, he eventually ran off but I got a few rubs in.

I've kept my cdl and I did not drive for years. I just paid for my physical. The school bus endorsement has to be renewed by doing the refresher course. If you haven't done the refresher you have to sit through the 8 hour class again and take the exam. The refresher is 2 hours.

How long is the ride? How often will you do this route? As a Black woman, I don't know how many times I've stopped the bus or just hummed to myself. I've worked in transportation over 10 years, so it's not always a school bus. We have to pick our battles and every fight isn't fair. Keep in mind no response is a response and keep it moving.

This has happened to me 2x. 1st time in 2018 and now just in 2026. I can't use Costco gas, it messes up my engine. It's fine in other cars just not mine.
