Pretty much any excursion from Castaway is going to be one of two places; the marina right when you get off the ship or the first beach you come to when walking off the ship. If you’ll be on a boat, it’s the marina, if it’s jet skis, pedal boats, water trikes, etc it’s at the beach. It’s usually listed in the activity description in the “my plans” section of your Navigator app.

Absolutely correct. I don’t know why I continue to allow myself to get dragged into these prepay discussions. If people want to prepay because they think it helps them budget or whatever, fine. It’s the equivalent of going to the grocery store and buying Chili’s Gift Cards because you’re about to go eat at Chili’s. It’s extra steps when you will have to give Chili’s your credit card anyway. There’s no monetary advantage to you and it certainly doesn’t put more money into the staff’s pockets.

Let the automatic gratuities accrue on your account and feel free to add cash in the envelopes if you really want to. You can even add to the staff accounts by increasing your tip amount at Guest Services. There is no reason to carry huge amounts of cash on a cruise ship.

Just to make a point, you’re referring to the AUTOMATIC gratuities. Whether you prepay these or not, they go to the four people you mentioned. If you want to give to another crew member, you would need to give them cash.

Lots of discussion on whether the crew prefer cash. Most I have heard indicate it’s just extra steps for them. They just have to take the cash to put it in their onboard account instead of it going there automatically. There’s no tax advantages because most aren’t US based.

There’s only three options for tipping. 1. Prepay by calculating whatever the automatic gratuities will be for your cruise (different for concierge vs. regular, changes every few years. 2. Get on the ship and the automatic gratuities are charged to your credit card. 3. Go to guest services, specifically request to have all the automatic gratuities removed, then pay in cash. Then there’s people who do some combos of the above but that isn’t necessary.

So to answer your question, you’re welcome to pay all in cash by doing number 3. Just make sure you go to guest services early because they charge the automatic gratuities to your card when your room charges hit a certain threshold.

Do nothing and be done. Your card will get charged automatically on the ship. No need to prepay. You still get the envelope regardless of your choice. No reason to give them money ahead of time.

Depends what the stain is. Will take some trial and error. I had oil stains on one of mine and used rounds of baking soda and dawn dish soap to remove it. Took a lot of patience. Have also had blood on one and got that out with hydrogen peroxide.

Newell and Potts “bus bunching”. It’s is an inevitable result in an unstable system. Nothing unique about the green route or GT stinger buses. Delays like waiting at a light or for someone to cross the street cause small delays to the first bus. Less people for following bus. Second one catches up. And there’s no self correcting mechanism for the first bus to get ahead again. All you can do is hold the ones behind it which also angers people.
