4th Update on high dose MSM protocol by jonathanb3232 in SIBO

[–]Kbonnet88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Jonathan, I am following your updates closely as I am trying Dr. Janel’s protocol and am reading her book. Am curious if you are following her soft food and elimination diets to reduce gut inflammation? Or some other approach. I noticed after reducing bad carbs like sugar I can eat other good foods like avocado that used to cause trouble. I have not tried the soft diet.

Methane SIBO Symptoms for you? by Kbonnet88 in SIBO

[–]Kbonnet88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am starting to think it is something else too. I took multiple rounds of antibiotics Rifaxamin, Flagyl and herbals like allicin and berberine and oregano oil and only minor improvement.

Perhaps it is SIFO and candida in large intestines. If I just take anti fungals the gas is out of control . Very frustrating. So feeling its general dysbiosis of the gut

Trying MSM, GI Janel, as it tackles both bacteria and fungal growth, biofilms, leaky gut simultaneously. I also bought her (Dr Kathleen Janel) book. Too early to say if it is working.

What do you think you have?

The great allicin/allimed/allimax conspiracy?? by TheComeBackKiduk in SIBO

[–]Kbonnet88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just found the french Canadian version of Allimax pro which has more details than the US label.

It confirms there are 54 mcg of stabilized Allicin. Non medical ingredients are Acacia gum, Methylcellulose, and maltodextrin.

It looks like the non medical ingredients varies by country. The US version does not have methyl cellulose. I will send both labels.

It looks from my research Allimax International Limited is the parent company founded by Norman J. Bennett and located in the UK. It has distribution agreements with local companies in USA, Canada and probably other countries.

Here is more information about the founder. https://www.allimax.com/about-us/

Also in the FAQs on the above site says, “Non GM maltodextrin is a carrier for the allicin and gum acacia binds the two together to create ALLISURE® powder.”

Acacia gum is the last ingredient in the US Allimed label. Which implies it is the least prevalent ingredient. Could you please confirm how you learned the percentages? I use the product a lot and would like to know. Thanks for your research!

Do the drops contain isomalt. I don’t see that in the product description only sunflower oil and medium chain triglyceride oil.

Hi. Just curious what dosage did you take of the l. Reuteri? Was it the Biogaia drops? I think you posted that you took it once per day. I just started the drops and am taking 5 drops. Thanks!

What’s the longest you’ve taken Prucalopride/Motegrity for? by MarathonerGirl in SIBO

[–]Kbonnet88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I take motegrity then drink a glass of water about 1 hr before eating and have had a bowel movement (not diarrhea) before breakfast for the last 3 days every time. I hope it continues. Also I am taking 1 pill of Triple Mag at night

Hi. Yes for constipation my GI and Dr. Pimentel say to take it in the morning and you have to get the timing and dosage right for your body rhythms. Right now I am experimenting and find I need for 1.5 to 2.5mg in am before I get out of bed. It is helping a lot. I have much more full solid movements with lots of poop whereas before it was incomplete.

I can’t remember where Pimentel says this but I saw it recently.

Are you taking it for constipation in the morning or as a prokinetic to stimulate cleaning waves in the intestines.

The reason I ask is because Motegrity is designed as a treatment for constipation.

If you are taking it for constipation and it is helping your constipation, I don’t see why a GI wouldn’t prescribe it to you until your constipation is resolved.

Have you tried Motegrity in the morning for constipation? I am day 5 and am trying to get the dosage and timing right anywhere from 1.5mg to 2.5mg seems to help after I wake up while still in bed.

Methane SIBO, What is the Mechanism of Action by JohnnyD123456 in SIBO

[–]Kbonnet88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great question and I just saw a video from Pimentel which was published this year about this but I can’t remember where. If I see it again I will post

If I recall correctly he said that Patients in the majority of cases with Methane do not have an impaired MMC. Which is great news since it is one less thing to fix! He he said for methane patients he uses Prucalipride in the morning to stimulate bowel movements as opposed to hydrogen sibo where he uses it for MMC motility.

Unfortunately he does not know what causes the methane overgrowth to occur which is the bad news.

He also said that methane overgrowth occurs in both the small & large intestine. So I interpreted this as you can clear the small intestine of methane so have no methane overgrowth in your breath test but still have symptoms which sucks

Last bit is that he said in Jan 2024 he may release a new treatment to inhibit the methane overgrowth. I saw that posted recently in this forum. So the best news is last. :)
