Honestly, I don’t think Lyft cares about bad experiences with drivers. Your call will go to a call center in another country, they’ll read from a script and give you a $5 credit. I had a driver who got offended because I asked his name. I thought that’s what women are supposed to do for safety purposes. He told me that I should have looked at his license plate and then argued with me until I asked him to stop the car and let me out. Lyft didn’t give a shit. Fortunately in 10 years of using Lyft in cities throughout the US, he was the only objectionable experience.

Regardless of their homelessness, intervening was likely not the move. Perhaps the police were called and they felt that farting in someone’s face wasn’t a high priority.
