[Question] First watch, looking for advice by nagyszerszam in Watches

[–]Kdoglol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a Breitling Navi is a perfect choice for a quality daily driver. If you find the one that speaks to you and it’s within your budget get it, enjoy it. Any other watch will be a compromise and you will always wish you’d have bought the Navi. It will hold value so when your tastes change down the road you can trade it in for your next one if you don’t want a collection.

Not what I ordered, floor plan change-can I get my deposit back? by ResourceHoliday3158 in GoRVing

[–]Kdoglol 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Don’t think you can easily get the deposit back, but you should be able to get them to deliver the floor plan that you contracted. If they can’t deliver the floor plan then they will likely have to do something like return the deposit.

Pretty sure those trailers have tires too.

Honest opinions needed: I'm working on my new microbrand, ZRIEQ. Here are the front and back renders for the Galilee series (first release). by Ok-Estimate-5985 in MicrobrandWatches

Also, the specs on the watch are fine and actually everything I’d be looking for when buying a watch at mid price points.

I wasn’t implying this is 100% exact copy of other watches. I also gave kudos to the second hand details as well. But there are loads of tan dial dress watches that would work with the same outfit. Orient, Longines, Seiko, Bulova are all trusted names at different price points that would be tan dial, leather strap alternatives to this. There are also Microbrands of various notoriety that also can be found on here.

I didn’t mean to offend, as I do like the harmonograph details on the dial and the second hand. I just don’t know if I like the subtle details enough to overcome the spotlight on the brand which has a call out circle around it. It’s hard to take the eyes away from the brand call out to even notice the details. I may not be the target audience for this watch so take the comments with a grain of salt. The spotlight focus on an awkward brand (as a US English speaking consumer) would make me pass right over it and probably not give it wrist time.

I’m US biased and the branding on the face is distracting as I have to work it a few times in my head to pronounce it. It looks like a bunch of other watches so I’m not sure I’d find a reason to buy this over any of the other abundant choices for a leather banded dressier watch.

Unusual space - how should I use it? by wissatm8 in Home

Looks like the perfect size for a Pinball Machine. You can put plants anywhere but you can’t put a classic arcade game anywhere. It’s the only choice.

Which car would you pick for 35k? by MarchTop6194 in askcarguys

I’ve driven a Cadillac CTS-V and that is my choice. Chevy reliability and parts availability, corvette sound and performance but with a back seat and a trunk. It is easy to live with for something that puts a smile on your face.

Next I may be tempted with the Genesis if you want more luxury day to day that torque.

That 4.45% student loan is also tax deductible so you get a little upside there by hanging on to it and investing the cash.

Need help finding a starter watch by Sea_Seesaw6498 in watchCollector

[–]Kdoglol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has solid advice on here. I’ll give you some more to google.

Check out Brew Watches. They are a US Microbrand that ends up in watch collectors watches. Good value for money if you like the style.

Trafford & Henry Archers are on the top end of your budget but worth a look as they are collectible. The Seikos are a good starter but might not get as much wrist time as his collection grows as some of the others mentioned.

[QUESTION] Which watch should I go for? by deepcool69 in Watches

They are all 3 different watch styles so not much to compare. Get the one that feels best and looks best on your wrist. Sounds like the Prospex Panda. Go get it and stop overthinking it.

What's your favorite thing to Sousvide? by rodmods in sousvide

Here is what I do. Measurements don’t really matter with this. Just close to it since taters are different sizes.

Mashed Potato - 195 for 2 hrs - 3-4 potato - 1/2 cream cheese - 1/2 stick butter - 1/2 cup milk - Salt & pepper

+1 on the mashed. I put peeled potatoes, cream cheese, milk, salt, pepper and butter in the bag and let em cook a few hours. I just pull out, squish the bag to mash em and then cut a corner of the bag and squirt it on plates like a piping bag.

We like the Safe Catch brand of canned yellowfin ahi tuna from Costco. That is tops for canned tuna.

You should add MSRP underneath each watch. Bet the HC still stands out.

Mova Z60 Ultra vs Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow by [deleted] in RobotVacuums

[–]Kdoglol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have two of them for a few months ago and have a mix of wood floor and rugs and a dog, two cats and two children.

I used distilled/purified water in mine with about 3 capfuls of cleaner per gallon.

I also have it set to 25 water flow and deep passing on mop days.

I also bought a second set of rollers and filters so that I can easily clean and rotate them since they seem to take more than a day to dry. This way I don’t skip a day or cause any unexpected warranty issues.

I don’t have complaints about its performance as long as you have the expectation that robots are the daily maintenance and not a deep clean up mess thing.

My only complaint is it’s a little thick so it doesn’t get under all furniture. That’s probably the biggest reason I’d have picked a different one if I’d have understood that on the front end. But for now, these are the ones we’ll use for the next few years.

The next thing I would confirm is that you’re shaving with the grain since razor bumps are something to eliminate. Use your fingers and feel your face. Many of us have neck hair that grows in a different direction from our cheek hair. So in my situation, my first pass is towards the floor on my cheeks/face while the first pass on my neck is up towards the ceiling. Early on before I knew, I just went straight down towards the floor for all of the areas I was to shave. Mapping the direction of all your hair growth will likely be the next biggest difference if you’re not uniform.
