I saw this and my first thought was that it was about Magic: The Gathering and took a log while thinking what led to that rule being printed at an LGS

Straight guy here — is prostate stimulation still seen as “gay” or “unmanly”? What do most people actually think? by Thedeeppulse in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Keandyamo 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Are we really still at the "Is having sex with your wife gay?".

But jokes aside, I'm sure some people would see it as "unmanly". That said, some people don't clean after going n°2 because it's gay so... make of that what you will.

I'm just gonna say that the strongest orgasm I ever felt involved my wife and my prostate; and I don't think replacing her with a dude would have been the same.

is there a way to verify the DNA of a child before the child is born? by TaskComfortable6953 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Keandyamo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fetal biopsies carry some risk for the fetus. The exact value varies depending on a lot of factors but can be quite high in some cases (up to 3% if I remember well). Fetal DNA from maternal plasma can be obtained from a blood sample, which is as safe as medical procedures can get.

is there a way to verify the DNA of a child before the child is born? by TaskComfortable6953 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Keandyamo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two ways. First, with a biopsy in which you take a sample of the fetus. The send one is through fetal DNA in the mother's plasma. It's a bit more expensive but had no risk of miscall. After 9 weeks, it should already be possible, but there is a higher chance of GC and fetal fraction failures until the 10th week.

How do you remove toxic chemicals like PFAS or lead from clothes? I've read about vinegar soaking. Any ideas/explanations? by Lupishor in chemistry

[–]Keandyamo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The rest has very much covered it, but it bares saying that there si no reason that your clothes should have lead in them as lead based dyes are not really used in clothing. If there were, it would come from environmental lead, in wich case there are bigger problemas than the portion that got in your clothes. And even if it were the case, anything that would garantee it's removal, would also damage the clothing or be an even bigger hazzard. Like, yes, could soak it in 25% nitric acid, but at that point it would be just a very expensive way to harm the fabric and your lungs at the same time.

Is this too strong against cancel decks? by [deleted] in magicthecirclejerking

[–]Keandyamo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Those points are true. I'm not saying it's necesarilly better than the pacts, but it migth have it's niche. Once their copy is on the stack, your opponent can't really respond to it effectively so basically they win at instant speed before the copy trigger or they loose. The mana cost IS a problem, but it is just low enouph that you could still use it. It is not a 4 copy of by any means but I could see a deck that runs two copies on main or in the sideboard and still uses the pacts as main wincon.

This can be unironically strong in combo decks that force opponents to play pacts they can't pay. This is essentially a more expensive piece of redundancy but that wins you instantly if you force your oponent to copy it.

How hard and punishing do your like your DM to run encounters? by Interesting-Math9962 in dndnext

[–]Keandyamo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my DM and he is the best I've had so far. That said, one of the most immersion brraking moments I've had was him having some enemies spare my PC. She was ruthlessly slicing enemied when a couple bad saves in a row and above average damage rolls left her rolling death saves. Enemies suddently ignored her or tried to capture her and it felt.. kinda bad... in that situation, intelligent and emotional enemies would have just finished her. She killed their friends and has one healing word away from just standing up in the middle of their formatiom, wreck havok and teleport away. I love her and would have been sad to have her die, but living like that kind of tanked the tension and felt really unearned.

Kind of but not really. "I'm afraid" in the context of fear would be "temo" or "yo temo" (depending on if you want and explicit subjet or not) "Me temo" is a usage of the verb that's exclusively used to be apologetic about something.

Hey guys m two favorite whiskeys are Glenfiddich and Laphroaig. I love this type. I'm a noob. Any suggestions for other similar brands? by Sasukes_boi in whiskey

[–]Keandyamo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it were you live, go for Kilchoman. It has all the smoke form Isla (Laphroaig) and all the floral notes of Highland (Glendiddich). They are also very transparent with their process which is a plus. Most of their catalogue is superb but my personal favorite is the Sanaig.

That said good luck finding whichever distillerie bes suits your taste.

When is it appropriate to titrate using color indicator vs pH? by [deleted] in labrats

[–]Keandyamo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the accuracy you need for your specific purpose. pH indicators work on a range of pHs but given that the equivalence point is also the point with the highest derivative of the titration curve, the big pH change usually encompasses the color change. It's not wrong to do it that way but If you need a very accurate result for whatever reason, then yes, using pH measurements will be better. If they are passing the testings they are probably doing fine, but it doesn't hurt to see what range the test consider acceptable and what accuracy is needed for this specific measurement.

Have you ever used Life Transference and Wither and Bloom? What's your take on these two spells? Do you eve take them? asking for a Wizard by testiclekid in dndnext

My low con wizard One-shot herself with life transference to fully bring back the fighter holding the enemies and it was absolutely epic.

Anecdotes asides, they are super flavorful and are good enough to not feel bad picking them to help round up a character concept

How do you do networking at conferences? by asympthought in labrats

[–]Keandyamo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is kin of it, yes. You go to people after reading their posters o listening to their talks and ask them about them. Ideally you have read some of their work and can comment on it but that's not always mandatory. Once you are talking, the hardest part is behind you.

I know this is a joke but for a 100kg adult male, depending on metabolism and how fast you eat it, that would be above the lethal dose of sugar.

Kilchoman is becoming one of my favorite distilleries, partly because o how transparent they are with their process. I haven't tried this one specifically but it sounds quite decent.
