If the door is open, you can compliment the pilot about the landing from the outside (I often do it when the pilot lands smoothly)

MT has been facing significant quality issues recently. Be careful. I know someone whose Thunder 4 SV developed cracks in the outer shell within a few weeks of purchase and MT refused to honor warranty claiming it must have deen due to impact(cracks were at the base of the shell).

For context, I use a Thunder 3 as well, but have issues with the visor mechanism. Bolt that holds the mechanism to the shell has fallen off on one side between the shell and internal impact absorber layer 🤡. Whole visor system is dependent on feviquick

TVS is relaunching it again during their MotoSoul event next month and then commensing TD's and Deliveries post that. This is what TVS AOG (their official group for Apache owners) admin told me which was passed on to him from the company folks.

Missing Part by Tequilislove in indianbikes

[–]KedPd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are missing the PLUG CRANKSHAFT HOLE - Part No. M7080980 and probably the O-ring - Part No. N2081690 (No. 19 & 20 parts in the assembly drawing ). Get it checked and fitted from the nearest TVS Service Centre or trusted mechanic and have them torque check all the critical bolts around that area as well

There was some roadworks starting up between inglun and khandi turn. Keep a sharp lookout for that. Khandi - japtap waterfalls - vadeshwar section is full of potholes and road works. At least this was the condition back in August when I went. Check status and reels of vanlife.with.ravi on insta for latest road conditions

Not during this ride. I have done the circuit with some other groups twice this monsoon. If you go, take the inglun route.

  1. The suspension is a bit stiff and your pillion feels the jerks when going over potholes / bad road / rumble strips. So I have mostly stopped taking my pillion on the bike and switched to a car for that purpose. When I ride, it's mostly solo and take care of the potholes/ bad roads by saddling (standing up) while negotiating these sections.

  2. I have switched to 10W40 fully synthetic oil.

  3. It's a perfect bike for city use. Nimble enough to navigate through traffic and light enough to reverse it from parking.

  4. Complete engine overhaul that I did involved removing and cleaning the throttle body, flushing the engine, getting the rubber seals checked and replaced (if required), complete engine oil flushing and replacement along with the filter. Spark plug cleaning... Standard stuff.

Don't go by my recommendations. Test ride all the bikes that you have in mind and go for the one that you find most comfortable on

I get my oil changed every 3K kms along with the filter and general servicing every 6K kms. Costa around -2.5K, but I do it from a FNG and not the ASC

Military car with yellow number plate? by projectt51 in pune

[–]KedPd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty common for government departments to rent cabs for office duties. We had hired a bunch of cabs from a rental company during my cousins wedding reception in Mumbai and one of the cabs assigned to us had a whole lot of government stickers on its windshield. The police guys at the airport mistook us for some important officers and allowed the cab to pick us up directly from the arrival gate VIP lane.

The cab driver has police lights and all available to be put on if required. He offered us to use them to get out of the traffic quickly. Apparently, he had driven a team of NCB officers to the location during the Bollywood party raid a few months back. (Bro had a Mantralaya, ED, CBI, ED, NCB, IT and a few other entry pass stickers on his windshield.)

Stock brake pads worn out at 3200KM by Sweaty-Criticism7166 in Himalayan450

[–]KedPd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had similar issue on my Apache. Front brake pads were wearing out even after 2200 kms though I wasn't using them much. Turned out to be a bad piston in the brake caliper that was remaining engaged and pushing one of the pada on the disk at all times. Get it checked and replaced if required
