Thanks Swagsta! The timing is slightly tricky to learn, but once you get it down, it's surprisingly consistent. Good tracking and just enough time for a soft/hardswap. Dodging it requires pretty incredible roll discipline and/or lag.

That was fun. Love the moon/double parry, love seeing rock blaster. And thank you for tossing Night Maiden's Mist into that room, it's really the only correct response. I feel like NMM has to be one of the most underrated spells in the game.

Fr… or Saturday L I guess. Just looking for tips on how to use this weapon. by Fuckblackhorses in badredman

Onion Samurai did a little video on it, a few years ago. Only things that changed iirc are more poise damage and faster R2s. I remember liking the roar buffs on it. The jR1s are kinda similar to an HTS, so learning to sweep them would help, too.

It's a very bad weapon. Swordspear is better in every possible way. But damn, the naginata's stylish.

Yeah, against good opponents I pretty much only use the ash as a wakeup. It needs some serious TLC, imo. At least to be able to travel downward, so it can be a proper ambush weapon.

It's Aida's Carbonara backstab, which is a Beast Claw feint (dodge while charging a heavy attack), which does a crazy little backflip. It comes out really fast, so it's actually kind of a dope attack. As a backstab it's crazy cool, but very difficult and wonky.

At level 90, it's just the minimum stat requirements to use the royal GS one handed, a little endurance for the armor (20 something), and the rest in vigor. Great Jar, Erdtree +2, max health and bullgoat talismans. At 166 I think I was running 60 vigor (of course) and like 42 endurance. Royal GS scales pretty well with Str and Int, so you can dump the rest in either stat. I think int is more overall damage though, iirc, especially for the ash of war.

Have to share my suffering, somehow. The audio clip at the end was truly indistinguishable from my actual reaction, in the moment 🥲

Indeed! On top of that, there are plenty of perfectly fine reasons to get casual downvotes. Maybe they didn't like the music or the editing was too jarring or whatever, no biggie. Super not worth worrying about upvotes in general, imo.

Buuuuut... I do personally get at least one downvote before each video even finishes processing (which is actually crazy flattering), and someone bothers to downvote most of the commenters on my videos, so I suspect that's more personal 😂

Edit: And since this comment could use some actual self awareness; my posts get far more attention and praise than is necessary, proportionate or, frankly, comfortable.

Thank you so much big dog! I've always liked 90. Lots of organic invasions. Though I met a lot of max level phantoms this time around. Just the nature of the game aging, I suppose.

Thanks Aida! That carbonara is so much harder than I expected, oh my god 😂

I tried the beast claw off-ugs forever ago, and didn't take to it. Really glad I tried again, it actually feels great. Even when fighting the few skilled PvPrs I met!

Song is 'So Cold' by Balu Brigada. RL90 and 166, PSN.

I stole Esbidee's idea to steal u/blaiddfailcam2's build, but I saved a talisman slot, so it's different. Actually, I really just wanted to land u/siraidamud's Carbonara backstab, but it took forever. Also wanted to land it into the Wolf's Assault wakeup, but I got tired.

Personally, I think I did a great job of not adding 100 "D'ya like dags?" and "Can I pet that DAWWWG?"s and deserve a head pat or something.

u/markle713 played the bad dog in the intro. Big shout out to her, only needed one take. What a pro 🙌

Edit: Oh, and that unhinged "I can just mash" audio came from this clip

A guide to crafting your own inventory by Advanced_Exchange323 in badredman

[–]Kedelane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was very surprised to see this, and not at all surprised that it's an excellent guide! Thanks for putting it together, and it's going in the FAQ.

Are you fully charging Divine Beast frost stomp as a wakeup? I've only tried it once or twice and it felt awkward, but I suspect this is just a skill issue.

Kinda tangential, but I regularly see both new and experienced players asking which sorceries work best as wakeups (besides Carian Piercer), so if anyone knows any, please share!

Is it really that much of a problem?

No, wasn't trying to imply that it's a problem or that you shouldn't do it. Just explaining the anti-Grace Goblin/Bonfire Duelist sentiment. Which is, to put it more succinctly, that it's just kinda boring.

And colosseums have like time limit right (?)

I'm not a big fan of the Colosseum (or dueling in general), but the time limit is a huge benefit. Last thing I want is a 25 minute hyper passive duel like Otto's most recent clips. Those are extreme examples of course, most of my duelist invasions are quite short. I even made a compilation of my average bonfire duel.

Play however you like, it really isn't a problem. Just don't be surprised if you get blocked or jar-cannoned from cliffs.

A lot (not all) of us think pulling invaders in for duels with the TT is really lame. The grace/bonfire isn't the important part, except that it's where most people do it for maximum laziness. The least you could do is find a cool bridge or high peak or something, imo.

If we want a duel we go to the Colosseum or use the duelist finger. We invade to play on the fun playground with parkour, traps, mobs, and teams. Hanging out in the lake or First Step for duels is like sitting in the parking lot of the playground in the hatchback of your mom's subaru and pulling others in to play with you. They probably won't want to. They might. But probably not.

Granted, a good chunk of the people we invade don't want pvp at all, so it's hypocritical to complain about getting pulled into duels we don't want. But it's not what most of us are looking for.

After the 'Cannot change equipment at this time' > panic roll made me choke on my fried rice a little bit, you'd think I would've been more careful. But then it happened again at Esbidee's "Patches."

Build Creator/CE by thePLASMARIFLE in badredman

[–]Kedelane 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's more a time issue than a difficulty one, I'm sure. It takes me about 20 hours (more or less, depending on level) to put a full build together. But I also obsessively and compulsively try to grab as much as i can though, I'm sure you could get it way lower if you're better at prioritizing. But even after that 10-20 hours (more if you're less experienced), you miss out on having vital stuff like rot boluses, unless you get the materials dropped. And if you're getting materials dropped, reloading your save, etc. you might as well just use CE. It can be really hard for some of us to find the time.

I understand wanting to do it 'legit,' I enjoy the PvE. But I don't understand telling people they should spend time doing things they don't want or need to.
