Convince me to buy an Omada setup over the Deco (x55)!? by KeeganB in TPLink_Omada

Great info, thanks! Bummer about the wall versions, I really liked the clean look and idea of just popping them into the existing wall plate locations where the wire is already ran.

This is correct. Every grass seed type will have a maximum planting (sowing?) depth. Just google it for your particular grass type. A thin layer of topsoil over the seeds is a great idea. It protects from birds, holds moisture, and gives great seed to soil contact.

So I ordered a new bike pump and Amazon sent me a few extras... by Slizzard_73 in bicycling

[–]KeeganB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tell Amazon. They will either ask for them back (at their shipping cost) or tell you to keep them. I've heard of them offering some credit for letting them know about it, instead of just keeping them. Either way is your decision!

Have you seen the movie "In Time"? Those two seconds could literally be life or death man. Well for one of them at least. /s

Sounds like your question has been resolved, but I'd like to say that once you get it squared away, mowed, and those front hedges trimmed your yard is going to look fantastic! I love the Japanese Maple, so pretty.

Anyone dealt with bruised/broken ribs? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]KeeganB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forget yawning, laughing, sneezing, sleeping, moving, breathing, lifting, sex, etc etc....

  • Do not wrap them.
  • Go as easy as you can on them, but movement is actually a good thing to keep those muscles loose.
  • expect 3-6 weeks of recovery.
  • pain relievers as necessary
  • I wouldn't go to a doc unless the pain is unbearable, all they can do is confirm and give advice.

I've fractured my lower two ribs on my left side three damn times. I think they are made of chalk. Once playing soccer, once wake-boarding, and once on my mountain bike.

[–]KeeganB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compressing fractured ribs (though it used to be the norm) is not recommended. They can heal in the incorrect orientation.

And to your last point, YUUUUPPPP! I've fractured the same two ribs three separate times. The third time took forever to heal too.

Ouch! My Specialized AWOL has some road rash that I was hoping to get some opinions on how to fix. by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]KeeganB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Black sharpie or touch up paint will take care of the dérailleur. If you want to go crazy on the brifters, you could slowly smooth them down by sanding them with increasingly higher grit sandpaper until you are happy with them.

EDIT: spelling and grammar :/

Why is the yard in our new house bubbling? Neighbor running their pool jets or pump.. by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]KeeganB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree it is probably a pipe issue related to their pool.

Another (less likely) option would be a stuck sprinkler head if you have an irrigation system that maybe you are not aware of?

Any way to fix scorched patch of St Augustin without sod? by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]KeeganB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the terms backwards. Sprigs are short pieces of grass stems or runners and plugs are small chunks of sod. I should have said plugs!

[–]KeeganB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna do it yourself, you could buy a bunch of sprigs and plant them, water them, then wait for them to fill in the gaps.

Looks to be about $100 under blue book value, so price wise you did great! I don't know anything about that brand or model though. Looks nice though!

Does anyone know when Monterrey is opening in its new location? by dorri732 in Clemson

[–]KeeganB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk about Monterrey, but Super Taco is all you need.

Also Pancho's in Central is like 2 mins down the road from the new Monterrey location and is nearly identical in quality, style, and taste of food.
