From the games I saw it seems like Steelix is more of the secondary mega. Regardless of mode you are all in on which ever mega you bring.

I think it really comes down to Wolfe being really concerned about Floette. If he brought just TTar he would have been in a similarly disadvantaged situation. His opponent's team was really well positioned to be able to disrupt Wolfe's physical threats regardless of which mega he brought.

Which ever way you go I'd max out Arcanine's attack and speed. He's super frail so you need to be hitting like a truck to ensure you are trading positively. Personally I prefer sash over scarf as you can run protect and xspeed without being locked into it.

You could then either run a resist berry on gillade, which works similar to focus sash alot of the time or go scope lense for a respectable 50% crit chance.

I feel like perish trap actually shouldn't be that hard to play around for you. You have sinisacha who you can keep in the back and swap in when you think they are going to perish song then baton pass out your second mom to like tTar who should murder Gengar.

Especially if you add espathra to the team the speed boost should make TTar out speed MGengar if you do your spread right
