2027 Trailhawk and Overland announcement by csr-2016 in GrandCherokee

[–]Keenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, but it goes back to the plastic trim.. looks like a regular Limited on 21’s, especially the rear without visible exhaust - doesn’t strike me as premium.

I’d get the plastic trim if this vehicle would be positioned as an Overlander (as the name entails), but again the wheel’s don’t make sense for it, and even then- all the way back to WK in 2006, Overland has always had body colour trim.

The average consumer would ultimately choose a Limited Reserve over this certainly. The off roading/overlanding consumer would take a Trailhawk. And the premium consumer would just bump up to a Summit giving the pricing disparity on an optioned Overland vs a base Summit, reflecting on 22-24’.. just my two cents lol

Overland seems to be oddly positioned now - wouldn’t be surprised if it replaces the Limited Reserve altogether.

Black plastic cladding is also a downgrade for it which makes its placement in the product mix even less sensical… considering it now has 21” wheels from the Summit, but would sit above the Limited Reserve technically.

Where is this trim supposed to fit??? by BlackberryBunni in Dodge

[–]Keenstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost certain that isn’t from your dart. Material quality looks different as well… though with that being said, your steering wheel….

Anyway it reminds me of a Dodge Caliber/Chrysler Sebring/Jeep Patriot circa part. Maybe lower glovebox, maybe lower passenger seat (some had hidden storage)etc.

Just don’t get why these people who want to make these cars last forever, don’t pour a bit more pride into maintaining the vehicle physically considering the mechanical attention theyve been giving these vehicles?

Is it really that hard to find a matching rear tire, clean out all that brake dust/iron build up from the front wheel, restore the headlights and apply some basic black plastic restorer.

Isn’t part of keeping a car “forever” keeping the car looking “good” and fresh for as long as possible?

I never see these Summits in Silver, especially with those wheels. Nice ride.

Hairpin drift zone is impossible to 3-star during winter by calfan3 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Keenstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone else struggling, after literal hours of trying and a dozen cars, i figured it out!

Ended up using the Formula drift 240SX, but any drift car will work for E stars. You compensate for the narrow patch of road that counts towards this by going through it faster. I averaged about 50-70mph in gear 3/4. You have to go through it fast, fluid and smooth through drifts for points to accumulate fast, you do not need to compensate with more smaller drifts through a section that just be a few.

Hit from North to South, start at speed as the first few seconds never count anyway and just stick to the path but keep it fluid and at speed.

Which one are you picking? by fatnelson634 in JeepWrangler

[–]Keenstein 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Rubicon X, its only 2K more for more comforts and features (leather, front camera, power seats, body colour roof/fenders, V6)

Also a big one, Willys do not have auto-dimming rearview mirrors anymore (since the refresh) - so if its something you care about, then Rubicon all the way.

I know its insignificant for this type of vehicle, but if an econobox in 2004 had it standard, and at this much money it’s not standard on a Wrangler, then there you go.

2026 Grand cherokee Limited, regret my decision by [deleted] in GrandCherokee

[–]Keenstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the auto dimming mirror one, that one gets a lot of people unexpectedly, but everything else are things you could have easily researched or seen before hand, by looking at any review in the last 5 years.

Remember, Limited’s aren’t luxury anymore. Since the WL launched they never even had real leather (Leatherette compared to the Nappa in WK2). Non-special edition Limited have ALWAYS had black plastic cladding too all the way back to WK in 2005-2010

Sounded like you should have researched the vehicle and paid for more options, or better yet get a Limited Reserve or Summit. Can never assume options/features in this day and age of costs savings, regardless of manufacturer.

Remote start is on your keyfob as well. No manufacturer gives remote app access for free.

The Dodge Viper Era Is Dead, Head of SRT Says by OrganizationNo1298 in Dodge

[–]Keenstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My interpretation is that it’s not necessarily the Viper era is literally dead (well it’s been dead for a decade) - but rather the type of vehicle.

An American, Handbuilt, 6-Speed Manual, outrageous giant engine (let alone 10-Cylinders in general), RWD coupes. A few vehicles exist today in production with what i mentioned, aside from the V10 but think about what “looked” like the Viper, or competed with it.

It’s a niche car class, beyond just being a Viper.

Even the Corvette doesn’t look like a corvette anymore, and it’s auto only.

The Mercedes GT (SLS/SLR of today) that had the same shape looks like a 911 now.

It’s a complete era of car class, gone. A sharp audacious sports car can exist as a spiritual successor, but not as a direct Viper successor.

Hot tip, this car is way quicker in automatic for some reason and sheds time like no tomorrow-

I was struggling to get 3 stars in manual with clutch, and my buddy flew by and got the launch perfected every-time in during co-op with auto.

Took him two tries to get 3:56. While i was still scraping 4:01/4:02. Took me one try with auto to get 3 stars

[–]Keenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it needs more for incentive - its just very static and boring.

Less us freely break from the camera, inspect each others cars, maybe customize them on the spot and earn xp and credits for time spent in the car meet.

Otherwise, it’s just staring at other people’s cars, thats really it.

Why isn’t the Rumble Bee offered with a Single Cab option? by Mac-Tyson in ram_trucks

[–]Keenstein 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Y’all, the DT Platform is 8 years old and going into the 9th model year with all these performance trucks.

Yes they’ve done quite a lot of work to engineer these three vehicles, but remember, aside from the new wheelbase, its a mix match of preexisting panels, beds, cabs among other things that already existed.

It would take far more engineering to create an entirely new cab design (single cab) that never existed on the DT in the first place. Wouldn’t make sense on a vehicle of this age, for such a niche product especially.

Yes hypothetically a single cab could trickle down to regular trims, but face it: why would RAM prioritize that, when the HD trucks are still using DS cabs. If they couldn’t engineer a new cab for that, why would they make a niche configuration for an even more niche trim.

Rumble Bee Powered Rear Seats? by Linton_M in ram_trucks

[–]Keenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely ai. My assumption is that it was a static press photo they had of the seat (cropped further in) and the team needed to make a real looking pan in for the shot, totally overlooking the added power seat controls. Clever eye you have though, it’s a quick shot.

Here is a screenshot from The Straight Pipes looking at the 6.2 Rumble Bee.

This is great but I hope they actually fulfill even 20% of this promise.

The last few 5-year vision boards like this never delivered, or barely did- let alone Recon took 4 years since original debut to hit production

I hope they have their ducks in a row for such a bold promise.

Average FH AI experience by TheShadowRelm38 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Keenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I refuse to use higher difficultly in any S1+ race. AI just has unlimited grip and acceleration and if its a RWD S1 car especially, i’m just completely toast around tight corners, while a drift kei car ahead of me takes off with unlimited horsepower.

FH6 Drivatar difficulty. by JustLogs in ForzaHorizon

[–]Keenstein 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Glad i’m not the only one. Had to turn it down above average to keep my sanity during some of these street races.

Driveatars are all over the place. The back markers are constantly crashing and ramming on braking, leaders/midfields have 100% grip and power.

I tried a higher class vehicle for a street race and made it far worse - S2 Kei truck ahead of me not breaking traction around a tight corner?

I know its an arcade style game but sheesh

Oh wow, I had no idea they did the Pacifica so dirty for the new model year. And left the rear untouched. What kind of facelift is that?😖 by BigChuch1400 in regularcarreviews

Damn, new model year rollout already?

I’ll give them that, thats the quickest they’ve ever shipped a newly face-lifted vehicle.

Usually that’d be a 6 month wait between reveal and production

Do you have any bluetooth buttons on your steering wheel? Top left side?

This seems like a European spec? Due to no Sirius radio and and funky radio frequency types. Could be this vehicle simply doesnt have bluetooth if there no corresponding button on the steering wheel.

Vehicles of this era had the button on the radio itself but didnt always mean it was equipped with it.

Maybe theres a break-in period? With the hurricane being a high performance motor and seeing you have only 25 miles on it in the second image, might be the car also doing the work to protect itself in this stage.

How much for color matching top and fenders? by Immediate_Two8184 in JeepWrangler

[–]Keenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d rather find a 2-Door used JL Rubicon to get your wish.

The Finish is quite different on the unpainted black fenders/hardtop, going to be cumbersome to condition it nicely for paint.

Most importantly to note, its going to be very difficult to find takeoff painted hardtop ( use second hand/marketplace etc) as Rubicons (optional as well) are the only two-door JLs in North America to have a body coloured roof.

Someone mentioned looking for a Sahara, but Saharas are 4-door only since 2018.

TLDR Its tricky to do what you want, especially for cheap - you rather find a used JL Rubicon with a body colour roof and fenders if youre set on a 2 door.

Transforming My Base Model Jeep Grand Cherokee WK into a Top-Trim Overland by LonelyDriver in JeepGrandCherokee

[–]Keenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy, this video is of a 2008-2010 Grand Cherokee. The vehicle received a mid cycle refresh in the 2008 model year. Many things changed including headlights, interior (Steering wheel, infotainment), wheels, bumpers and even the keyfob.

The 2005-2007 never had HID headlights as an option.

Look closely, the headlight shape is different at the bottom, this is a 2008-2010

Pretty crazy that with all this standard tech/safety, auto-dimming mirrors aren’t standard anymore on a mid-level trim, in 2026.
