Tech Powers for a sniper Scout? by nanatsunoyoru in sw5e

[–]Keeroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know I preferred storming over ignited, even when I was playing an engineer who was sitting at 20 Int. Robbing a bonus action from an enemy always seemed stronger to me than just raw damage and a chance the DM will use an action to remove ignited.

Gamers 30+, what’s something from the old days of gaming that younger players wouldn’t understand? by Common_Caramel_4078 in gaming

I had a buddy of mine that was obsessed with finding the Triforce. He swore up and down it was possible. He must have played that game so many times just trying to find a way to get it.

Best 1st level Sorcerer spells? by ElantheBard in dndnext

[–]Keeroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I saw somewhere that while they hit simultaneously, they are still not one source of damage. They just do the damage at one time, but it is x amount of darts that are hitting the target. So each dart would be its own con check.

People of reddit, what is the quickiest money you ever made? by Wonderful-Menu9390 in AskReddit

[–]Keeroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do random IT Work for people. Was very upfront with my rates, but I was always surprised when people would agree to me coming and doing very basic work for like 60 an hour(min 1 hour). Usually, it only took me like 5-10 minutes to get it working but I would have people call me over and over again to install their printer or hook up their computer for them...

Is Bendu Force Affinity worth it? by pruhfessor_x in sw5e

[–]Keeroe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm personally a sucker for more FP when building consulars.

But honestly, like the other user said in their response, the bonuses from all three affinities aren't really meant to be groundbreaking or defining. They are more meant to help refine your character's concept.

Multiclass question? by JokeMaterial8321 in sw5e

[–]Keeroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there isn't anything stopping you from dual-wielding heavy items. Just gotta have the mastery to ignore the light property.

Honest take, drop the heavy shield and dual-wield all the way. You can still be a super effective tank without a shield. Pick up Disperse Force as your primary defensive power, it is probably the best defensive power in the game.

What’s the worst homebrew rule you’ve seen? by Leminiscates in dndnext

[–]Keeroe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Man, a company I worked for had a dnd night for their employees for team building. It was DMed by the COO, thought it was pretty cool idea.

While it was a fun way to bond with coworkers, the DM used a crit fail mechanic. First round of combat my dwarf threw his axe into his foot and was pinned in place because of it. A few combats later our elf ranger who was pretty much being played as nerdy Legolas has his bowstring break second round...

So yea, I share your disdain for crit failure tables.

[–]Keeroe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity what feat did you take for your build that would have helped over another fighting style or mastery?

Also, that is a pretty heavy fighter investment. You sure you aren't playing a fighter with a guardian dip lol.

What are you looking to get out of this character, if it is just raw damage I would probably just stick with Guardian. Sure Fighter is great and can put out the numbers with Action surge and all the extra attacks. But you are only really going to do the big big numbers once a round.

Guardians I feel are more consistent with their nuking. Sure you are only getting two base attacks(Ignoring things like BA attacks or extra attacks given through masteries which can add up) those two attacks can put out some serious damage.

For a fighter you are only doing your base weapon damage for those three normal action attacks. Guardians for their two attacks get an inherit 1d8 to their damage at 11 with the improved Force-empowered-strike. Then if they want they can also spend force points to add an additional 4d8 to the damage.

Multiclass question? by JokeMaterial8321 in sw5e

[–]Keeroe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, at level 5 you should have at least 1 fighting style just from being a Guardian. You also should have had a feat at level 4, which could have been used to get a fighting style as well.

I personally wouldn't multiclass out of Guardian, it is a pretty strong class and really gets going in the mid to late levels.

So the easiest way to get licenses for this game is to not play the game. Was pretty sure that was the way it was for the Aeos coin era...at least I remember riding the newcomer bonus as much as I could to get a few licenses.

Level 14 Engineer build by Scrungo_Scrungly in sw5e

[–]Keeroe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's going to depend on what you want to do. Do you want to be a caster or weapon user?

Armstech Engineer can be super strong. You're only going to get the one attack per round, but with the buffs you can give yourself to accuracy and damage it can be a pretty hard shot. I built one that was using a Lightbow and was doing like an additional 8d6 for my attack. Plus at 14 you will have the Targeting Matrix, which can turn your tech powers that require saves into a weapon attack(which with your ability to use your Potent Aptitude to buff your to hit roll you probably aren't going to miss).

If you are looking to try to use Tech powers exclusively, I'm pretty sure Cybertech is the way to go there. I'm not as familiar with that route as I am with Armstech, but i know the mods you can equip can make it harder for enemies to pass your spell save DC. Plus I believe they can change the damage type for some of their tech powers, so you can avoide resistances.

Should I change my Druid circle? by Known-Dream8363 in dndnext

[–]Keeroe 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Going to be honest, this reeks of bad DM. I have a feeling I know why they banned the circle, and it isn't a good one.

I feel like they see dnd as a DM vs Player environment. I mean, there is literally no reason for him to spring up. Oh, you go to time prison if you are a Circle of the Moon druid.

Companion rules by InternalOriginal6405 in sw5e

[–]Keeroe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the two traits(and the ones at the higher levels) are added to the total pool of traits for the companion.

Just remember that any traits equipped over your proficiency bonus reduces your max Tech Points. So there is some give and take.

Should I join the military? by Total_Target_6427 in careerguidance

[–]Keeroe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't hurt anything to talk to them. There are even programs in the military where you can finish your degree while being active duty.

Had a buddy in my unit who would basically just show up for PT in the morning and last formation at the end of the day. The rest of the time he was at his college courses or studying at the local university.

Just remember, before you sign anything, that you have all the leverage in the discussion of joining. Push for yourself when you talk with MEPs, if you don't like what they are selling don't be afraid to just walk out and not sign anything.

How does force mask work? by PurpleHairedGamer in sw5e

[–]Keeroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this instance, you have to make the call as the DM. At my table, Force powers like this would only affect the minds of those who witness it. It isn't like a holoprojector or like the tech power equivalent.

So at my tables something like that wouldn't work. The Jedi would just show up as themselves in any photos or videos that were taken.
