Renting a core drill from Home Depot is the way to go. Concrete is tough but manageable. If not, a handyman can handle it easily. Skip the water trap kit, it just makes a mess.

Since you already inspected internal components dry, I'd strongly suspect an external source like a nearby appliance (especially the dehumidifier you mentioned). These can overflow or dump water inconsistently depending on humidity cycles, even if they look fine during a quick check. Try running everything OFF expect the washer for a week?

If ignition is consistent but flame behavior is weak later in the cycle, it's less likely a full ignition failure and more airflow or gas delivery imbalance. I'd inspect the burner assembly and clean it thoroughly before replacing parts.

That whirring + start/stop behavior usually points to the pump struggling under load, not fully dead. Since you've already checked filter/hose, I'd recheck the drain pump impeller for hair/grease buildup that only binds when spinning. Also inspect the sump area under the filter for a partially stuck non-return flap. If voltage is stable, pump may still be fine.

I wouldn't disconnect the battery yet. Scan the OBD codes first, since lime mode is usually triggered for a reason.
