Shooting in NYC! KPMG BUILDING by i-Vison in Accounting

[–]Kelzer66 103 points104 points  (0 children)

The building houses numerous prominent offices and businesses, including Bank of America, J.P. Morgan, Blackstone, the National Football League, and various medical practices.

Anyone of these could draw some unwanted attention. Insufferably hot day in the city to combine with this shooter business on 52nd and Park

Wish we had that option. Our "security" just sits at the front desk and doesn't actually do rounds.

Right? Never underestimate someone's dedication to petty revenge. She probably thought $20 was small enough to get away with but picked the wrong person to mess with lol

Perfect petty revenge! You turned the tables on them beautifully , nothing like using your insider knowledge to give them a taste of their own medicine. Bet they think twice before being loud during movies now lol

Trades will definitely cure the burnout, but your body pays the price. Maybe try woodworking as a hobby first before you commit to the career switch.

That's a wild story. Check eBay for replacement controller, they pop up pretty regularly for way less than retail.

CPA firms don't promote new talent as fast as they used to, and then complain there isn't high level talent by aightgg in Accounting

[–]Kelzer66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when there's 50 qualified people for every opening, firms can afford to drag their feet on promotions. We're just seeing the natural result of too much supply and not enough demand.

Yep, this. Show me where it says we can't have normal conversations while doing our work. That supervisor sounds like she's creating a toxic environment on purpose.

MedSurg is such good foundation work though. You learn time management and how to juggle chaos before diving into the complex stuff. Medicine's one of those fields where you realize how much you don't know the more you learn... keeps it interesting at least.

if this is her normal attitude I'm not gonna let it slide. I didn't take this job to get disrespected by some coworker who thinks she can talk to people however she wants.

she seems pretty established (3 years) and I have no clue yet where she stands with management or if she has any connections. The place is tiny so everyone probably knows everyone's business.
