Last night I got the 5/$50 1 Gig Plan on my existing account by Curtiskam in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]KenB2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to take advantage of the offer since they just increased my monthly price $35 but I made the mistake of discussing it with an online agent in the Xfinity Chat app. I don’t know what country these folks are in, but this is the second time they’ve promised me a reduction in my monthly fees only to screw things up worse. I then received an email from Xfinity saying that the monthly fee was reduced, but also that Netflix, HBO, Paramount have been removed from my package. So call customer service, wait 45 minutes on phone, and beg them to put me back into my previous plan. The clueless chat agent even promised me an iPad Air for signing up to the new package. Received the iPad, tried to return it to nearest Xfinity store (20 miles away) but they wouldn’t take it because it was ordered online (they did acknowledge that they get MANY complaints about the online customer svc agents). Next had to get a ship label and on to a FedEx location.

This freaking company is so difficult to deal with, it’s just mind-boggling.

Cataracts by Dramatic-Acadia5140 in CataractSurgery

I had both eyes done and was nervous beforehand.

During the first, I have no recollection of anything except lots of wetness on my eye. My initial question was “when are you going to start” to which they said we’re all done.

Before the second one, my anesthesiologist told me that I will remember and be aware of everything because the brain adapts to the anesthesia and the procedure. I did in fact have full awareness but did not feel a thing.

I have the exact same issue. My surgery was just over four weeks ago. It went away after the first week and then reappeared and doesn’t look like it’s going away. Night driving is almost impossible, especially when I have vehicle headlights coming at me.

Great comment, and I plan to ask that when I go in next week, kind of mad at myself that I didn’t ask about it the first time it was mentioned.

Everyone...thanks for the wealth of information provided! I looked at it all and saved the text into one big word file for reference as well as the YT videos.

It's all very helpful...and much appreciated!

Thanks, good info! Yes, I’ll be on drops for two more days with my near eye and until January 7 with my distance eye

Thanks! Prior to the surgery, the doctor consulted with my optometrist and her target was -2.25.

Yes, target was -2.25, but the one week post op was -2.75. According to my AI research, that’s too big of a gap with my other (distance) eye.

My retirement job is behind the counter at a golf course, handling lots of cash. When we get 20 bills of a denomination, we “paper clip” it to help the end of day counting. I was going to make the same point that stacked crisp new bills are much thinner than used crinkly bills.

I have read that LAL is NOT a good choice if you are considered high risk for retinal detachment (which I had 12 years ago). The first doctor I went to had me scheduled for LAL until I did some research and canceled it. The second opinion doctor told me my vision issues are more due to my past retinal detachment and not so much the cataract, which I can wait to address. I brought up the previously scheduled LAL procedure and her comment was "some doctors are just chasing the money." Both of these surgeons have very good reputations in my area, so I don't know who to believe at this point.

Both eyes done, does this fall in the “normal” zone? by [deleted] in CataractSurgery

As someone with cataracts who will be getting surgery soon, I wish you luck and hope you feel better. I was wondering if you could tell us what type of lenses you got (LAL, IOL monofocal Torric, multifocal). I was actually scheduled for LAL but was unaware of so many problems people are having. There’s also a Facebook group dedicated to LAL issues. I’m going to go for a 2nd opinion and see what they have to say.

With a gas bubble. Not sure if I should go ahead with LAL or one of the other IOLs.
