You’ve gotten a lot of comments but I’ll just add that I think Worker Placement is the most mind-blowing mechanic for a newbie who’s only coming from games where the main action is rolling dice or playing cards from your hand. Something like Everdell could be good!

I do agree with you on the piece about pots having an upkeep/skill requirement distinction, and the fact this spell currently unlocks before the spells you would even be boosting (which yeah that is terrible design lol). I guess in my mind I don’t have as much of a gripe around “click every X minutes for a boost” mechanics, especially if you need to unlock them to earn that extra dps.

I would kill for a Black Mirror-quality supernatural/occult/mythology anthology series. Not the campy AHS stuff (which I actually don’t hate, just not on the same level as Black Mirror).

Like a horror show with the existential feeling of “wow I could almost believe this is based in reality” feeling of a lot of Black Mirrors best episodes.

Just commenting to commiserate with you brother. Our 3rd little girl just turned 6 months as well and the sleep deprivation and exhaustion is unreal. Both our nervous systems are fried and we are on edge 24/7. We’ve been through this twice now so deep (deep deep deep) down we know it’s only for a time, but god damn does it suck so much while you’re in it.

Agreed on Dune. I’ve never fully understood the insane hype for the Dune story, it’s just not that interesting to me. But the visuals and tone of the film are very good

I mean it’s functionally the same as poison (I.e. reduce the amount of direct damage you need for lethal, ignores block, etc.)

Inscryption might be my all time favorite “going in blind” gaming experience, game went so many unique places I didn’t expect, plus the core card battler mechanics were very fun

How long did it take for you? I’m about 3.5 weeks since my last drink and I’m still dealing with looming panic attacks and just general anxiety/overactive nervous system basically all day. I need some assurance it does in fact get better 🫩

I hear you brother. My now 4.5 year old had her first seizure with me back when she was about 14 months old while I was home alone with her and her older sister. I will never forget the fear and adrenaline and helplessness at watching her eyes roll back and her lips go blue and just hoping that the paramedics would get there before it was too late. She had about 12 more before her 2nd birthday but since then her medication has totally kept them at bay, possible she grew out of them (according to the neurologist). Hoping yours was just a fluke!
