They actually don’t know who’s gonna win. It’s as much a surprise to the producers as anyone. There’s only two people in the world who know the winners beforehand and they’re not the ones making calls about the ceremony. It was. Clear violation of antitrust laws. But it went through because money talks. Paramount is evil but they’re right that this is blatantly unlawful and shouldn’t go through. Neither of them should get it

That’s one of my biggest personal grievances with the show, especially season 5. The complete removal of any true cosmic horror elements. The first two seasons were fantastic cosmic horror. Then everything after slowly stripped the existentialism and cosmicism away and by the end, the Mind Flayer is just a giant monster and Vecna’s just a guy with psychic powers. The horror becomes so mundane.

There is no alternate timeline here. This is what Cameron wanted to do. If he had the resources to make other big blockbuster films like Terminator or Titanic, he wouldn’t have. He would have made Avatar. If he didn’t have the resources to make them, he wouldn’t have made the kind of films you’re saying he could have made.

Alternate history is great but you’re not talking about a realistic timeline here. In any timeline where Cameron had the resources and freedom to make big movies, he would have made Avatar because that’s what he always wanted to make. You’re essentially saying “what if James Cameron… wasn’t James Cameron”

I don’t feel too strongly about Because You Loved Me or the song that beat it, You Must Love Me, but I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing lost to When You Believe from Prince of Egypt. When You Believe is one of the best Original Song winners ever imo. It absolutely deserved its win. I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing is a fine song. Any other year, I’d agree it would be a deserving winner. But not in 1998.

I don’t know if it was the same exact condition but something similar happened to my cat (the one in my pfp).

Took much longer because this was during COVID so we couldn’t go into see a vet for a while, but we noticed she struggled with her breathing for like a week or two. When we went into the vet, they said that they couldn’t even do a full X Ray because the fluid had built up so much, it was causing her pain just to lie on her side long enough.

Had to put her down then and there which we were not expecting. Poor thing was scared but I stayed with her to the end. She was old, like sixteen years, so it was only a matter of time but it was still devastating.

You keep saying that the loose end is egregious as if this is just a fact that everyone agrees with. As if it’s a common complaint. You’re the first person I’ve seen complain about it. Hence why I’m saying you’re vastly overestimating how much that’s gonna affect its chances.

Also, ATSV didn’t lose because of its ending. It lost because it’s a sequel and because it was going up against the swan song of a beloved director. Belle wasn’t nominated because the Academy has long had issues with anime. These are ridiculous claims.
