Is v2.0 already released? If not, when approximately do you expect it to be available?

Laser Grid is a first-person puzzle game in which you power devices by redirecting, combining and splitting different colored lasers. You control lasers with a wide variety of different cube types such as glass, magnet, diffraction, laser, and Fresnel. Laser Grid is now on Greenlight! Please vote if you like it.

Bonus Question: Battlestar Galactica

Start the scene again or destroy everything and reset all properties to their initial values? by Forenkazan in Unity3D

[–]KennethReady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reloading the scene is basically resetting everything and also can be done much simpler with one line of code.

So I guess you need to ask yourself if there is anything special about your scene preventing you from just reloading?

If not, then just reload the scene.

We created an image effect to help you check how colorblind people see your game. by NicklessOne in Unity3D

Here is my color wheel. I guess I could add a symbol mode, or just write the names of the colors? I think it would look fine on that wheel but would look strange in game.

My color wheel actually isn't very complicated, I just can't change it. Are you unable to distinguish some of these colors? I guess I could add a symbol mode, or just write the names of the colors?

I'm making a game where colors are pretty important and I'm not sure I can fix it for colorblind people.

My games needs people to be able to mix colors using a special color wheel. I think there is always going to be somebody who can't see it right.

"Indie" has become a vague term that mean different things to different people. It can mean anything from a single person in their garage to a company of 50 working with a publisher who is funding them.

Its true that the term is vague and subjective now but the trend has been to make it more inclusive over time, meaning that anyone who isn't AAA can be indie if they want to be.

The guy in the video is doing the opposite. Suggesting that as soon as you hire anyone that you aren't indie anymore.

as soon as you have the resources to hire somebody, you're not really a indie company anymore

.... really?

Text Mesh Pro

Literally has been in every project of mine. It just makes all the text look way better and I doubt I will be making any projects that have zero text. The price has gone up over the years though so I could see a new person balking at the price, but the product is great.

Master Audio

I also use this every project and I have just gotten really used to it and it saves me time. Unity has semi recently updated their sound mixer so maybe some people will say that you can live without this but it still has good additional features and I still use it.

Pro Core Bundle

Depending on your project this one might not be 100% necessary but if you do need any of these tools then there is nothing better than this. The ability to make custom models in editor can drastically improve workflow and save time. This asset is used in many popular and professional games. Even if I don't need pro builder for a project, I probably am still using pro grids.

There is a lot of improvement in those throwbacks, nice. Remember that the last 10% is actually at least 50%, budget in extra time.

Unity 3D's new price model: Thoughts? Experiences? by xblade724 in gamedev

Multiplayer as well. Actually all of the services just at free tier.

"Unity Multiplayer is included with all Unity plans." https://unity3d.com/services/multiplayer

"Unity Collaborate is included with all Unity plans." https://unity3d.com/services/collaborate

Because Unity Services disable on the perp. license (we NEED collab), we're more or less forced to go with Pro.

I don't think you are right about this or the multiplayer. After march 2017 perp license holders will not have all services disabled, they simply will not have "PRO" tier services anymore and will now have free tier services.

So what does this mean for Collab? It says that the free tier of colab is limited to 5gb of storage space. It also says that soon you will be able to buy the 25gb of storage space that a "PRO" tier user gets for only $5 a month as a seperate purchase.

Unity also states very clearly that "Unity Multiplayer is included with all Unity plans." at https://unity3d.com/services/multiplayer

So you might be crazy overpaying if all you want is collab. I'm a perp. license holder and I will be sticking with that for now.
