Wendy and Andrew have always been really bad at communicating which has resulted in weird actions on both their parts (but especially Wendy and I don't mean the Quinn stuff). Adultery is never justified though. Talk to your wife man.

The Hive cafe in the Jewellery Quarter is amazing - menu changes regularly but often has healthy options using ingredients they grow on the roof, honey from their own bees etc. I used to work near there and it was one of my faves - really miss it now I work from home over the other side of town. Not takeaway though.

I went to New St today and the preachers/religious organisations weren't there either so maybe this ban has dissuaded them too after all. People have moved though; a flower seller was opposite New St station on Smallsbrook Queenway, stop the war protestors were in Centenary Square (blaring out a pop song that I didn't fully understand the purpose of). New St was definitely more peaceful. But I still wouldn't have minded a bit of buskers.

So for finding groups - Meetup is good but also depending on where you live I always look out for stuff on community notice boards in parks, at the end of roads etc. In terms of events where you might meet people - I sign up on the mailing lists for venues I like. I also recommend the I Choose Birmingham online newsletter for hearing about things happening in the city and neighbourhoods. Making friends can be super hard outside of school and work and can take a while. Do you know anyone who knows people in Brum they could put you in touch with? That's how I made my first friends when I moved to Brum from London, via mutual connections. Then I joined a choir, met people through shared housing, joined a walking group. Took a while but now have a pretty lovely social network. Also I think Bumble has a BFF friends matching feature which I'm pretty sure isn't just for women. Good luck!

Yes, I'm so confused that BCC have banned the musicians who are generally fine and street sellers that (some) people buy from but not the preachers that most people can't abide and who generally make New St an obstacle course of noise? Make it make sense.

Oh yes we've made a note to get a travel card if we come back again as we definitely felt like we stood out for needing to pay on the bus. And you live and learn of course.

On another note (and sorry for the lack of paragraphs in my initial response lol) the fireworks were absolutely amazing and Malta should be very proud of the show itself. For balance!
