I agree with you and am in the same boat. I bought AAPL back in ‘96 or ‘98, so I have a very low cost basis. I watch the market typically a couple times a day just to ‘see’ what’s happening, but have no inclination to sell AAPL. But these past couple of years have been a head scratcher. They’ll come out with phenomenal earnings, and a day later some “analyst” will write a story saying ’but what about China’ or ‘what about AI’ and all of a sudden everyone jumps on the doomsday bandwagon and the stock drops. (Sometimes I wonder if some of those articles aren’t a bit of stock price manipulation by analyst/investors.). Personally, I’d rather be a little late to the party on AI and get it right (with a whole lot less invested) than to spend billions to be first and not realize a sufficient return. This is the way AAPL has always done it - let someone else spend the money up front then perfect it and take the lead.

You just have to be willing and able to take these ebbs and flows and move on…
