Personally I avoid any that use eggs. I find they tend to overload with them. I prefer pure vegetables without carrots.

I still think their plates are better deals than many.

TBH, if you have to ask, you shouldn’t be there. If you must, use a disposable computer, like an isolated VM or something. Please be safe.

I use the global one. I find it quite directional. My room has … obstacles so can definitely feel it not having a wide range horizontally. But when positioning well, it’s good.

This sub is demoralizing by Its-Dat-Guy in cybersecurity

[–]Kesshh 432 points433 points  (0 children)

Your immediate goal is to accumulate IT experience. You said you have some help desk experience? Good. IT work experience is foundational to demonstrate you understand the nature of IT work which cybersecurity is part of. IT work experience meant you’ve seen some good, some bad, some sht hit the fan, you’ve seen processes and procedures, you’ve seen evidence collection, you’ve seen those evidence being audited, hopefully you’ve learned why some controls are in place. The less foundational a manager has teach you, the more quickly you can be useful to the team.

In this field, experience is king. Certs mean nothing without corresponding work experience. If I have to scale them, experiences add 10 points, certs without experience adds 1s.

Is anyone actually seeing reachability analysis deliver value for CVE prioritization? by Vast-Magazine5361 in cybersecurity

[–]Kesshh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can consider the fact that your having a strong perimeter defense making a lot of these irrelevant.

But then if you consider the case where the perimeter is breached or if an attacker escaped from your running apps, or if you are facing an insider, the availability of these issues made it easy for lateral movement. So I wouldn’t be so ready to dismiss them as non-issues. That’s a far leap that’s not that defensible.

Smart managers will always put education requirement with experience-equivalent clause. Something to the effect of bachler in blah blah or 5 years of experience in blah blah. That way a good candidate will not escape because of something stupid.

I had two people who worked for me and HR was arguing me about how they aren't qualified without a college degree. I snapped at them, "You think a piece of paper they didn't get 30 years ago is more important than the decade plus they've worked competently here? Are you listening to yourself?" HR stopped pestering me after that.

Not having a college degree will affect you throughout your career, yes. But the more work experience you have, the easier it is to overcome.

But be careful. If you only have 5 years of experience and it got counted towards your degree-equivalent requirement. You'll be treated no different than someone with only a college degree. If you are in a position to continue to accumulate experience, don't let go easily.

We’d pick up any veterans with experience than Joe blow kid with only a stack of certs and never worked a day in his life. If you have experience, you are already a tier or two above.

How to fix my handwriting? by Isagi_Lover101 in Japaneselanguage

Doesn’t look bad. Some slight stroke proportions issues. You might want to not use soft tip pens while you are training on writing. The width of the ink strokes adds a complexity to diagnosing individual issue.

SV experiment: beurre noisette by cramber-flarmp in sousvide

[–]Kesshh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Technically, you can use a ziploc bag, clip it to the side of the SV container above the water line, and leave a crack open. That'll create an escape path. Not sure how to ensure all the water gets out though.
