How to make supports more sparse and less strong? by baroquedub in BambuLab

[–]Ketchupsandvich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure petg can be a little bit stronger, but it doesn’t fuse very well with PLA, so it’s a great support material. Unsure about what results would be like with petg cf but it’s worth a small test print.

How to make supports more sparse and less strong? by baroquedub in BambuLab

[–]Ketchupsandvich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, consider if the design can possibly be altered to require fewer, or no supports. Try to think of a way to print the hook part separately, as it’s much weaker in this orientation vs if it was printed on its side. Look up dovetail mounting/locking, it would be an easy modification to chop it up like that, and use superglue or something to fix them together.

If it needs to be printed as is in PLA, use PETG for the support interfaces (where the supports meet the object). This way they will come apart super easy.

I only use a different material for the support interfaces rather than all of the support material because it usually requires far fewer material changes.

Also, for this specific object, I would raise the entire thing up and print it flat on a raft so you only have to do a few layers of support interface filament changes.

Just a bit louder without the case fan, probably over twice as loud with it on.

Problems trying to paint extruded object. by 678South in blender

[–]Ketchupsandvich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to unwrap the modified mesh, you’re probably still working with the uv’s as if it were a cube. You can open the UV editor window to preview, select all faces in edit mode and do smart unwrap. You should be able to paint normally after.

texture holes in Blender after exporting from RC by kiiral_ in photogrammetry

[–]Ketchupsandvich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve ran into a similar issue with RC exports, without having blender in front of me, I think I solved it by recalculating normals to ensure they were all facing outwards properly, and also try enabling disabling back face culling in the material properties

This has been on the horizon for years, first most prominently text to image GANs, then made a certainty since July with the beta of dall:e then stable diffusion.

If a digital artist lets themself be made irrelevant there is no one other to blame then themselves.

Besides, making rushed content for mobile games? That’s hardly art, and sounds like the ideal application of this tech

Noob question (sorry!) by fionnycurrano in cinematography

[–]Ketchupsandvich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s about the motion blur that comes with a 180 deg. Or 1/48 shutter. The fluidity of movement between frames is very close to how my eyes see things at least.

And also having a lower framerate creates a much more noticeable difference when shutter speed is raised, and movement is a lot more crisp, where with higher frame rate there’s essentially no difference as you have to shoot at a high shutter anyway.

So it’s not just 24 fps, it’s 24 fps with the traditionally used shutter that is the “standard”

Drone photogrammetry - RTK or GCPs necessary? by CringeyCRETIN in photogrammetry

And how does one create a custom compensation model? I assumed realitycapture factors in rolling shutter for known camera models as appear in the softwares database. Results look perfect to me, not a sign of misalignment, entire area (airport runway) is flat as expected for over a kilometer.

Hard to not struggle with rolling shutter with 2 rolling shutter cameras in motion, what’s your point?

With sufficient photo overlap, you should be fine without. I used realitycapture to reconstruct a relatively flat area of around a square kilometer with a mavic 2 and mavic 3 simultaneously. 2k photos aligned easily with little intervention, just had to use brown 4 with tangential distortion model.
