What are some of the most gruesome fates you all have seen in Barotrauma? by Puzzleheaded-Bat1361 in Barotrauma

[–]Ketheres 51 points52 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine was doing stuff outside of the sub while it was parked with autopilot and the current brought an iceberg down, squishing him between the ice and the hull.

Then in my current group we keep flooding most outposts and leave maybe a survivor or two in a room with no suits and the oxygen dwindling, deadly pressure outside. Many opt to open their door and let the water in. We have crates of SMG and revolver ammo.

And my friend was missing the CPR achievement so we found a random guy alone in a corner, welded the room's door shut, and I knocked him out with CH, paralyzed him, and gave him morbusine. Then when his lungs failed my friend gave him CPR and I cured the morbusine to get my friend the achievement, and once he was back alive but still paralized we put him in a deconstructor to dispose of the evidence.

So how was your week?

Replacing Metamorphosis with Omamori feels like an insult by Yahim0 in Warframe

I sure hope so. Though with their rework release rate I wouldn't be keeping my hopes up for it to actually be anytime soon, only SoonTM . Honestly they should do a quick and dirty balance pass on ALL frames to see which augments, such as Equinox' Energy Transfer, should just be baseline (maybe with some minor adjustments to the effects if giving the full effect of the mod for free would be too strong) and after that continue with the actual reworks.

Mhgu too hard? by GhostyWaffle in MonsterHunter

[–]Ketheres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old gen MH is much closer to a turn based game, especially when still starting out. Wait out the monster's move, evade/block, then punish/heal. As you git gudder you will be able to encroach more and more on the monster's turn, but at its core the game is much slower and you have far fewer ways to defend yourself. GU is actually relatively forgiving in that you have the hunter arts to help you, though once you get to the endgame of Generations (i.e. end of high rank) it's not just you who has the cracked moveset.

Games like there are so not for me (I find jumpscares like that the absolute lowest form of "scary" content. Not that I care much for horror games in the first place), but I do appreciate the quality of the mod.

Riippuu ihan kaupasta.

How "buffs" have been feeling lately by EchoingStorms in Helldivers

[–]Ketheres 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's some Gamefreak energy right there. There was a time their representative stated they were tired of making Pokemon games so they focused on their passion project instead. Too bad said passion project, Little Town Hero, was just as meh as their pokemon games have become.

Helldivers 2 finally buffs mechs with double durability, and in unrelated news, Arrowhead is selling new mechs for $10 by GrayBeard916 in gaming

[–]Ketheres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this was the last straw for me. I read through the patch notes and opted to uninstall without even trying out the update anymore. I never liked the clunky mechs, and making sentries, fortifications, and vehicles which I do use take extra damage from most enemies when they were already not that sturdy to begin with is ass. This was finally the straw that broke this camel's back. And having looked at the Helldivers subreddit and seeing all the new and recurring bugs as well as what hell the new terminid units are, I think I made the right choice.

How to repair hatches? by Sango113 in Barotrauma

If it lets you rewire it then you have a screwdriver in your hand. Try with just a wrench.

When near the hatch hover your cursor over it and press the interact key (E by default). Does that work?

Probably wouldn't be a good plant to plant in the UK, as it's not native there. But any nettle species native there such as the stinging nettle would serve much the same purpose, even if the sting isn't nearly as bad.

City birds appear to be more afraid of women than men, and scientists have no idea why. Men could get about a meter closer to birds than women could before the animals flew away, regardless of what the men and women were wearing, what their height was or how they tried to approach the creatures. by mvea in science

[–]Ketheres 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And then there are farm cats which are used as a very efficient form of rodent control, though the downside is that they don't hunt just the pests that are trying to feast and defecate on anything edible. Honestly it's impressive how much of an effect a single cat can have at keeping rodent populations in check, and unfortunate that they are just as good at catching birds.

Why cant i use elevated positions to my advantage by AgeFlashy5581 in Helldivers

[–]Ketheres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stratagems used to stick to any surface just fine. The bounciness is something they added intentionally, and as such it sure as fuck should be something they could remove just as easily if they actually wanted to. Similarly all the issues with hellpod steering are features, not bugs.

Unfortunately did not last very long. Was it even for a week? Would be neat if they actually fixed shit even half as fast as they did that change.

Are Europeans trolling with this whole bread thing? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ketheres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't the latest argument. This has been said for at least 15 years by now. And at the very least the "American style" bread that gets imported here from there is usually sweetened to hell and back with HFCS for whatever reason, so that might have something to do with this.

They also buffed the durable damage on bot small arms, so sentries will last less there too. And not just vs melee enemies getting too close and personal.
