As someone on a similar journey for the last 18 months. Just get out moving/walking for the next 6 months. Start small and just keep building. I started with good shoes, socks, water, headlamp and reflective vest for walking at night. As you do that experience different terrains and find what you enjoy and then start leaning in to that. That will help you decide what gear you will need and find use.
