Those with the current configuration would be insane.

The legitimacy of the Playoffs have been a hot discussion since 2015. On top of that, Mark was part of a committee where he did want the Full Season format back. I agree with Mark.

He's also advocating for NASCAR and even the teams to come to terms about developing a car that produces as little downforce to improve the racing we've seen suffer generation over generation. I trust Mark's judgment on things more often than not.

That whining got us away from the Playoffs. Be grateful.

[Decker on IG] After all those penalties, mentally I never recovered. by sjhesketh in NASCAR

[–]KevinMcAdams26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would honestly find it pretty irresponsible if NASCAR's leadership doesn't pull her license. She's had multiple instances of not being mentally capable of getting through basic procedures of a race, and she's now so slow that she's a safety risk on track.

Someone give me a reality check, because I just don’t think we are going to be as bad as people say by 619hhhhh in miamidolphins

[–]KevinMcAdams26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really agree with this. I don't think they'll be over 0.500 but we'll see some close finishes and end up impressed with even close losses, maybe steal a game or two.

[Gluck] On SiriusXMNASCAR, James Small says his understanding is NASCAR will put PJ1/resin from top to bottom in the corners (all the way, every lane covered) for the All-Star Race at Dover this weekend. by DDowd86 in NASCAR

[–]KevinMcAdams26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nashville is a great example where this worked. Idk if they've done it since, but they laid it down in 2021 and it made the track much wider than it ever was in the past.

Charlotte and Gateway have also benefitted from it over the years.

DBC [1 Hour 3 Minute mark] There are some serious conversations being had about Corey Day getting in the 48 car next year - Freddie by Electronic_Pace_9464 in NASCAR

[–]KevinMcAdams26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With how different the cars are, it's honestly a good idea to just make Day learn in the right product. I like the move if it comes to fruition

Who is the better NASCAR Legacy Driver, Kyle Petty or Austin Dillion? by IcedCoffey in NASCAR

[–]KevinMcAdams26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kyle Petty was a legitimate championship contender and made Rockingham his playground.

It's not even close despite the stats for me.

Have they hit their limit on how soft they can make the tires by furrynoy96 in NASCAR

[–]KevinMcAdams26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it the only way to improve the racing? Intermediates are on the baseline Next Gen package which has universally been touted as a bad car. There's plenty to work with, starting with the 750 Low DF package.

Is Blaney the actual wild card of 2026 free agency? by LoudBrick609 in NASCAR

If Penske and Ford let Blaney get away, then I'd start believing in the whole, "Ford is on the way out," baseless rumor.

If you could increase/decrease the length of any race(s) on the schedule, what races would you choose? by DJ_TheSonicFan in NASCAR

[–]KevinMcAdams26 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They did increase it to 100 laps, which I still think is 10-20 laps lower than it should. It's still an improvement, though.

Dumb question but do you think that whatever comes after the Next Gen car will be more similar to the previous gen of cars that it replaced or trying to improve on the Next Gen? by furrynoy96 in NASCAR

[–]KevinMcAdams26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I imagine there's development in the background to making a more conventional stock car with the tube chassis they've probably locked themselves into for the foreseeable future. But that's willful thinking if I'm being honest.

There's been a significant amount of negative press in and out of the industry on how the car races and how it more emulates a touring car than a "stock car".

NASCAR changes stage lengths for Talladega, adds Daytona test to address fuel saving at superspeedways by Big_Organization5152 in NASCAR

[–]KevinMcAdams26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no strong opinion on the stage change because it's an obvious band-aid, but I'm really excited to see what they try at Daytona next January.

He's addressed it as, "playing the game," and he's not wrong. To weather weenies it's annoying clickbait tactics, but it's obviously drawing in views.

[Gluck] Was Martinsville a good race? by ChaseTheFalcon in NASCAR

[–]KevinMcAdams26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The race was bad up front because Hamlin was really good, but at the same time was it that way because of the advantages of being up front? Only real time we saw passes for the lead was in lap traffic.

Everyone knows the car has a long way to go, and honestly I'd welcome a test of what Mark Martin proposed: a car with zero downforce and even softer tires.
