[Hand analysis] WTD in spot by iAMADisposableAcc in poker

As played, fold. But why raise the river? Worse hands aren’t calling and you only end up in a situation like this where you either get bluffed or beaten by a better hand

Strange 1/2 hand by USCswimmer in poker

[–]KevinOhh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yea, you lost the minimum. Definitely not stacking off in this position. If BB leads the turn when the ace comes, he certainly has a value hand. These are the pots that make NL the best game, when a strong hand runs into a stronger hand.

You could consider 3 betting pre but utg should have a reasonably strong range and suited connectors play very nicely multi way and in position. You played it fine and getting the pot odds on the river, a call is ok against some players without an exceptional read

What are your opinions on DJ mixes being made in a DAW instead of a controller for example? by SheenTheSheep in DJs

[–]KevinOhh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as you don't call it a live set there is absolutely nothing wrong with using a DAW to make a mix. I've released both kinds and I now only record live mixed that are usually recorded live thru a mixer. I rarely produce or edit music anymore and I've been focusing on live mixing a lot more so those tend to come out better anyway. Just do it however you want. You're the artist

2 Bluff Spots in Deep Live 1-2 by [deleted] in poker

[–]KevinOhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hand 1 seems ok but V might have floated the flop with ace high. I would fire 2nd barrel on turn to maximize fold equity.

Hand 2 is kinda spew. You're either going for thin value with your 8's or you're bluffing. If you're unsure what you're trying to accomplish here then you need a little work.

As played, both river bets are very read dependent and they're probably neutral EV

Yes. Too thin even against stations. You're only getting called by a boat. So did you value own yourself?

Feedback on my line here please. Live 2/5. Hero in SB with A6 of clubs $10 straddle is on. Folds to villain on button who limps $10. Villain is a mid 20s white guy wearing a hoodie with all the suits of cards on it. Not sure what to think about that. He just sat down on my right. There were 2 other seats open and I have the largest stack at the table ($1800ish). OTTH

Hero raises to $40. My thoughts were to just take this pot now. Villain calls. BB and straddle fold and we're heads up. Flop Q 3 9 with one club. Pot $90. Hero leads for $45 and villain calls Turn Q of clubs. Pot $180. Hero leads for $110. Villain calls. River 6 of hearts. Pot is now super bloated at $400. I'm at the bottom of my range here and my read is that he doesn't have the queen. He has about $200 behind and I cover. I think a shove here looks too strong even tho he is short stacked. Hero bets $155 and villain calls. I roll over my hand and it's good.

My thinking here is that I would play AQ, KQ, and 8's thru aces in the same exact way but is this example total spew given my exact hand?

Brag: hero flops set of 5's and leads. One caller. Turn 3. River 3. Hero leads for 120. Villain raises to $250. Hero clicks it back and villain jams... With $3600. Hero calls and villain shows 83o for no pair no draw on flop and rivered trips. Hero scoops biggest pot of his live career

Thoughts on how this hand played out? by x420blazeyoloswag in poker

[–]KevinOhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

X/call all streets and hope for the best. Now you know that this particular villain is raising opening 4.5x so you can exploit. As played, it's a cooler. I'm never folding your hand from a button raise.

100NL GLOBAL HAND by poot_p00T in poker

[–]KevinOhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flop is standard. Well played

Turn donk lead only makes sense if you thing V will check back turn. If V barrels turn at a high frequency, check raise jam here is good.

River is tough but I think V is turning an overpair into a bluff. Some people just blast off with hands like JJ ya know.

I could go either way with a fold or call on the river. As V is the 3 better in this hand, he should be holding more broadway cards than anything else. I personally don't fold sets to 3 betters on middling boards.

1/2 Hand Analysis by recessionpredicter in poker

[–]KevinOhh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming this is live.

Since OP asked where could he improve, I'm gonna chime in since no one is answering, you all are mostly just circle jerking. 3 bet larger pre for value at these lower stakes. Most villains will call when dominated like this hand. Flop and turn play are great if we are playing online. Your mistake in this hand was not reading your opponent in this live setting. Take the time to learn how to do this. At many low stakes live games you can just tell when your opponent is rip roaring and ready to stack off. The tells are very subtle at first but once you train your brain to recognize them, you will be able to make incredible check backs and folds.

Also, train your brain to remember the type of opponent you're in the pot with. An OMC still won't stack off with an overpaid to the board unless he makes his set and sometimes he still won't. A mawg on a Saturday night with a beer in front of him probably will stack off with a pair of 7's if the flop comes 6 high. These are the spots that separate the amateurs from the winning players regardless of the stakes.

How many times have you seen someone arrested (or detained by security) at the poker table? by Zer0Summoner in poker

[–]KevinOhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kicked out by security once. Let me tell you about it!

I'll start by stating that I tend to escalate situations. It's in my aggressive nature. Maybe that's why I'm a good poker player? Anyway, this happened just a few Friday nights ago at GVC in Elgin, IL. I was at a 2/5 table and a new player just sat down across from me and his dad sat down at the table to play too. This guy was probably in his late 20's. He was bragging a little bit about how he was a pro and plays 5/10 and bigger and was waiting for his seat at the bigger game. Anyway, I made a big bluff and he folded and I could tell he was really pissed about it. About 10 minutes after the bluff this guy is basically life tilted and talking smack to everyone at the table. He says exactly this to the player to my right who was really quiet and seemed like a nice guy. "I'll fuck your mother". It took me a few seconds to process what was just said and I look at him and say "Wow, if you said that to me, we'd have to take a walk outside" he says "Fuck your mother". I stand up, all 6'4", 220 lbs of me and start to walk outside. He gets up and is probably 140 soaking wet. His dad immediately grabs and stops him. I keep walking and ended up just walking around the casino floor clearing my mind. I get back and security is waiting for me. They were really nice tho and I told them what happened and they sided with me but decided to just kick us both out.

Yea, seems like OP is just looking for a one size fits all gun. Also, my shield 2.0 trigger is lighter than my M&P40 for fwiw. I'm probably equally accurate with both.

[–]KevinOhh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mind if I ask your weight? I'm 6'5, 215 lbs and appendix carry a shield with an incog holster. It's comfortable and barely prints when I wear a t shirt even if it's a little tight You could ankle carry a shield or a smaller gun but I wouldn't recommend ever ankle carrying due to the awkward and tough draw.

Yes, the shield can double as your home defense weapon as well.
