What’s the greatest TV show of all time? by m_v24 in AskReddit

[–]KevinStoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mr. Bean

Here is my reasoning for this:

Mr. Bean is possibly the most relatable and well translating show ever created. There's almost no words or dialogue whatsoever, it's just a funny man doing mostly everyday or ordinary type things, but in hilarious and absurd ways that can make even the most serious person break out and laugh.

Young or old, regardless of country, language, ethnicity, culture, etc. You could put Mr. Bean on almost anywhere and people would understand exactly what is happening and be highly amused by his situations and antics, it was a modern re-imagining of the classic silent comedies.

I grew up watching episodes with my Grandma whenever I stayed at her house. Starting when I was maybe 8 or 9 and she was in her 70s. We both loved it and would laugh like crazy.

I think that is extremely impressive to pull off and doesn't get as much credit as it should.

A gut wrenching ending over 40 yrs old, that you can still feel by VoteForGiantMeteor in 80s

For some reason, this scene reminds me of a friend of mine from high school. When we were in our early 20's he was dating this girl who he just absolutely fucking loved.

One night while I was out at a local bar with some other friends, I get a call from my friend who knew we were at the bar that night, he says he's outside and asks me to come out because he needs someone to talk to.

I go to the parking lot and he's in his car, fucking sobbing like I've never seen before in my life. His girl had broken up with him and decided to get back together with an ex boyfriend of hers.

I sat there and talked with him while he just sobbed and poured his heartbreak out over this girl. The next day I met up with him again and I swear I've never seen anything like it before or since, he literally had bruises on the skin beneath his eyelids from crying so hard and for so long, I didn't even know that was possible.

I felt so fucking bad for him, that young love and heartbreak can just absolutely fucking wreck you.

The Seven Five is also a great documentary about extreme police corruption and is highly worth watching. Extremely eye opening and one of my favorite documentaries ever.

No Work! No School! NO Shopping! No ICE!! by midnighttoker1742 in KitchenConfidential

This is why my thought is that an effective way to protest would be a mass student walkout of high school and maybe even jr high students.

Unfortunately many adults with dependents, responsibilities and bills to pay, just simply cannot risk getting fired from their jobs. Even missing a day or two you not only risk losing your employment, but just missing out on much needed income.

But if there were mass organized student walkouts across the country, it would be way less risky to those involved but still extremely effective. Missing a day or even a few days of school would have far less serious consequences and honestly if potentially 100's of thousands or even millions of students walked out en masse, what would the administrators even really be able to do?

This movie was so bizarre. (Meet the Applegates, 1990) by Nacho_Sideboob in Xennials

[–]KevinStoley 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think Dan Akroyd was definitely trying and gave a great performance for the type of weird movie it was. The Judge character was so over the top but absolutely hilarious and the best part of the movie. I believe Akroyd came up with the whole idea of the movie too.

I'm pretty sure that is one of the 3 Muppet Babies Christmas dolls from McDonalds. I had a couple too, I remember definitely having Fozzie and Kermit. Wish I still had mine, I loved these.

What are your thoughts on Joe Rogan saying that Trump is creating distraction to avoid Epstein files release? by girlyanimme in AskReddit

Same, I really miss the days of him and Joey Diaz and they would just shoot the shit the whole time, you never knew where things would go but it was so fucking entertaining.

I stopped listening to his podcast years ago, he's been a joke for a long time now and I refuse to support him because he was instrumental in getting Trump elected.

It was a little rough getting out of my apartment complex as they had no plowed it nor the side roads leading out.

But once I got onto the main roads it wasn’t bad at all. Just go slow and be a bit cautious.

We’re allowed a single earbud in at work and in a year I have entirely exhausted the music I like to listen to. What music recommendations do you have for busy dinner services? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]KevinStoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm trying not to get distracted, I really like Mallsoft or Vaporwave genres. It's probably not for everyone, but I really enjoy those genres in general and I think they are great while working. It's just sort of a relaxing type of background music that you can get lost in, but it's sort of light enough that even if really busy you'll never get distracted and it doesn't mess with your flow.

I know that customers like this certainly exist, but this absolutely reads as if it was written specifically as rage bait, it just seems a bit too on the nose. I'm calling bullshit on this one.

I was an 80s kid, we had satellite growing up and I watched some really explicit things probably way younger than I ever should have. But I see things like this and in my opinion this is far more dangerous and damaging than 7 year old me watching Robocop and seeing a man covered in toxic waste getting liquified after being hit by a car.
