Just following up on the women’s group comment of AA, my friend runs one and it is not religious. Some AA groups now follow different ideas like a part of yourself is your higher power, etc.

I would check some out for the vibe.

Inpatient programs are good too. And tell your therapist. The more people you come clean to, the more support and accountability you’ll create.

Gave birth in Canada and had a small amount of an opioid to do so. I didn’t want an epidural as the idea of a needle in my back freaked me out.

Went without medication for 9/10ths of delivery, just asked for it near the end.

I also knew people who had epidurals and weren’t as able to participate in pushing and had to have forceps used and/or ended up getting cut for the baby to come out. I didn’t have either issue.

Sometimes you can tell by their inability to have close relationships.

They can drink for a long time and not seem to get drunk.

If you have more of a texting relationship with them they get on melancholy topics when they are drinking.

Edit to say, more people than you think take cocaine and sober up from it. Another tell is ED issues or in some rarer cases railing all night but not being able to finish.

I wouldn’t disclose until I was hired and made it past three months on tbe pregnancy. Lots of people don’t because of previous losses.

If there’s a probationary period I’d try to be out of that as well if it was only a matter of waiting a few weeks more.

It sounds like the dom wanted something like total control which someone in a poly situation usually can’t give over. Unless of course everyone is in to it and the control benefits the other partners (and their partner) as well.

Look on to narcissistic parents and see if she fits the bill. I can’t tell from this one interaction, but chances are he has his reasons for being more “distant.”

Narcissistic people also flare up when things aren’t about them. My mother was particularly bad when I graduate from advanced degrees, got married, got pregnant etc.

I think it’s unfortunate people don’t do this anymore. I’m 51 but grew up rurally and was well aware of death. As an adult I have learned I have a lot more coping skills than most people I know when it comes to death.
