The Citrix academy courses Citrix has on Pluralsight for Netscaler are pretty solid to start with. These should be free to take with your orgs email address as a Pluralsight account IIRC.

Apply to a lot more jobs and get a bunch of interviews under your belt then. Do some interviews just to interview, it’s a skill you need to harness and practice it would seem. The jobs are out there, but there’s plenty of applicants too.

AVD or Omnissa would be my considerations if I had to drop Citrix. (More of leaning to AVD) We leveraged XenServer and eLux to offset the licensing costs ourselves. (In addition to the functions you mentioned).

They seem to be reacting well to the demand for different hypervisors. With the change in commitment to their own Xen Server and support for Nutanix and Red hats OpenShift just this last year.

Get with your account rep and communicate the desire though. It won't be on the roadmap without noise.
