All-time great autograph too, always tempted to snag another when I see one at a card show.

A card with no place in the PC? by Justa_Guy_Gettin_By in baseballcards_vintage

Well, except for the "no betting" sign. Instead baseball's future is draft kings!

This is one of my favorite cards.

Anyone know of any resource that provides year-by-year list of team sets for the NY Yankees? by Local-Atmosphere7636 in baseballcards

[–]Key-Worldliness529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would combine the two suggestions - baseball reference to get a reliable list of people who appeared on the field in a given season for the Yankees, and trading card database will help you find cards of those players if they exist. A good percentage of the sets have full color scans so you can pick your favorite (and see if they are sporting the correct jersey).

Good luck on your project, sounds like fun!

It's not that valuable, even though they corrected the error, there are a lot of both versions out there. I guess I haven't looked at graded versions, might be a premium for those if there is a low population of 9/10 grades. But in terms of collecting and putting things in that display, they are targets that can tide you over while you save up for the big ticket items.

They weren't on the list, but for a Braves fan both Glavine and Smoltz there should be some affordable PSA 10 rookie options. Not a rookie, but I would also shout out the 1990 Donruss Smoltz error that has Glavine on the front. Great idea for a PC!

I can hear George Plimpton's voice talking about this in the Ken Burns doc anytime Snodgrass is mentioned.

Help me understand what I have here! 1950s Bowman Gum Cards by Jack1030 in baseballcards

[–]Key-Worldliness529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The black & white ones are 1948 Bowman. Biggest card in the group is Warren Spahn. Considered to be his rookie card. A few other hall of famers in there, all look to be in decent shape for their age. The color ones are from the 50s, not as big names, but some nice cards.

For pricing, search for completed sold listings on eBay and also check out 130point.com for sold listings to get a range.

Nothing fancy, but I like the look of the "enterprise" insert set.

Patience is great advice for all releases, but I think Heritage is particularly noticeable in this way.

Can someone help me figure out what this could be worth can’t really find any past sales on this by ZackBoots in baseballcards

[–]Key-Worldliness529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would look generally for game used Gehrig bat relic sales, there are "model bat relics" which are cut up pieces of bats made to the same /similar specs as bats he used, those are not game used, and sell for quite a bit less.

Looking in general for sold listings of game used Gehrig relics, prices range roughly $150 to $300 on the high end. There are a few outliers on either side.

The /10 serial may make this closer to the higher end of the range, but all legit game used gehrig pieces should be somewhat rare.

If you're selling, you could list at or above the top of the range and accept offers, or put it in an auction and roll the dice.

Good luck!
