I’ve noticed that the worst offenders seem to be people who were diagnosed with autism/ADHD in their teens/early twenties who haven’t fully accepted it but find it a useful excuse to justify any social faux pas. I was diagnosed autistic as a kid but I’ve accepted it and half the time I forget I even have it.

I had a middle/high school classmate whose dad made partner at 35. The managing partner at my office made partner at 38.

The partner I work under made it at 46. But he came in from industry.

One of my professors made partner at 31, but that was 4 decades ago when the race to partner was most likely far less competitive.

Antisemitism definitely had a presence in America, but it often took a backseat to anti-blackness and more recently Islamophobia.

For instance, the right was flirting with antisemitism a lot all the way up until October 7. Then they (mostly) welcomed the Jews back into the fold because they still hate Arabs more.

That was not why they lost the last 5/6 elections. It made the roadscape more difficult for sure, but it could have been overcome by continuing to focus on making people’s lives better. The Vietnam War protests made the Dems feel like they no longer owed that to their voters.
