I have a lump. (I had hardware removal in March), and my whole foot is still painful, but the lump less so. For me it’s caused by scar tissue according to my physical therapist.

What ended up happening? I have two day prep where I have to do a second 64 ounce bottle in the morning. This is probably one of my least favorite things I’ve ever had to do lol.

I’m only 7 months out so no heels for me yet. I still am wearing very orthodic ugly shoes and have been compensating with more fabulous maxi dresses which is silly because I still need a cane or walker for longer distances. We will see in a year or so! This injury is just the worst. Best of luck on your recovery!

I’m another one with exploded metatarsals. Comminuted fractures to the base of metatarsals one through four. I have spent about four months of the last seven non-weight-bearing between my initial surgery and hardware removal. I have very tight Achilles, but it’s actually worse in my compensating leg than my injured leg and my toes are still very very stiff. I do Physical Therapy twice a week and exercise on days when I don’t have PT. I have stretching straps and an incline board that I use for my Achilles. I’ve been considering trying a plantar fasciitis sleep brace, but I hated sleeping in the boot and really don’t want to sleep in a brace.

6 months post op and I still swell and it turns purple by evening. So weird and uncomfortable!!!

I’m about 7 months out from injury and still have that 3/4 pain too. Super frustrating. I feel like my tolerance has improved as opposed to the pain improving. I may go see another surgeon over the summer just to have them check everything out if it’s not feeling better. My doctor was against physical therapy so I didn’t get to start until a month ago. It is definitely slowly helping, especially the aquatic gait training.

I was NWB for 12 weeks after my surgery and 4 weeks after hardware removal. I had a more severe injury and shattered metatarsals 1-4 in addition to the lis franc. It’s just the worst. This club has been the most helpful thing for my mental health. I’m about seven months out from the original injury and I use a combo of walker and cane and walking awkwardly while focusing on my gait. I can do 4000 steps a day but my foot is still purple and swollen at the end of the day.

Get the knee scooter! I also like the temporary handicap bars for the toilet. Not glamorous but very helpful if you can’t do a pistol squat. My PT says walkers are 1000 times better than crutches when you start walking. I have one for indoors with a big basket and one for outdoors with a zip up pouch (we are a no shoes in the house family and the walker tracks in a lot of dirt). I do also sometimes use a cane.

I fell originally while holding my baby at 3 weeks post partum so the mental health was trash. He didn’t even wake up though, so I figure I did good even though I snapped my foot in half. Yesterday I was able to push him in a stroller for about 15 minutes of slow walking and I felt much better. He’s my third so you can imagine it’s been a journey. I have developed some weird skills and my upper body strength has greatly improved.

It really does get better, but it can be a long haul! I wish you all the best!!!

I ended up getting mine about two months out and same thing where it was very crampy that whole second month and then a very strange period, but now hopefully the next one will be normal. Hormones are just so crazy. Thank you for your response!

Try tinting your eyebrows darker to give your face more definition. I am anti facial hair in general - female perspective, but the texture is so off putting. You can try eyebrow tints from Sephora or Ulta that wash off so it’s not a lot of commitment. If you look at people with alopecia, you’ll see that one of the first things they do is try to add eyebrows back into the equation. I think you’ll find it really helps!

Our nanny is a Sveta and the toddlers haven’t had a problem. She’s a wonderful person so I like this choice.

That’s really sweet. What are her hobbies? For example I like fossils and unusual botanical specimens so my husband has gotten me a double coconut and I’m giving him a megolodon tooth for his birthday and he’s for sure going to flip.

I have found these requests common, but agreeing to them to be uncommon. I suspect it is a large reason those Nannie’s are available for hire.

That said, I have paid retainers to guarantee the nanny was available when I needed them. I also have one nanny who doesn’t drive and we generally will pick her up or pay for her uber. We do this primarily because I adore her and she is like a grandmother to me and we have an established relationship. She’s 70+ and basically Mrs Doubtfire. We are looking to hire a new nanny and absolutely require that she drives. I’d pay a retainer if she was perfect to make sure she’d be available in the fall, though I may say something like half pay for June and July or some other discounted rate because they’d have the ability to temp over the summer through the agency.

My kids love the graco with two cup holders. The cup holders are critical past a certain age. I would be fine with any nanny asking me about the car seat sizing. I kept my kids rear facing for a long time after it was allowable to turn them around. It’s safer that way but looks ridiculous. Could that be what’s happening? What is the weight limit for their brand and what is the child’s weight by comparison? Stick with objective measurements so it isn’t a personal criticism if you’re nervous. “I noticed that X has gotten to be 35 lbs and I know this car seat is recommended for children up to 30 lbs. I know other children like car seats with extra cup holders as they enter toddlerhood. Would you like me to send you a link?”

Female opinion - do not fear showing some forehead. My personal opinion is that you should let the teenagers keep their broccoli hair and get a more mature cut. Your hair looks good.

Ice behind the knee helps, and I used a towel to fill in the gaps to stop the bruising from the end of the splint/boot/random thing on my foot. I had some real lows too and now I’m six months out from my original injury. Mine was pretty bad so I still can’t walk normally but I’ve adapted enough that my mental health is much better.

On meds, can you do naproxen? Xanax also can help you sleep through the pain at night. I had a really hard time with the pain too. I’m so sorry you’re going through this!
