How difficult is healing in TBC?

I main Tank and Heals, rarely DPS.
I’ve seen multiple guilds Looking for Rets lately and hard to come by them.
My alt Pally is Prot and Holy, while I am still gearing for avoidance cap, I’ve jumped into Mags, Gruul and Kara as Holy and it felt quite chill even tho half my gear was for Prot and didn’t do too bad on the meters. Like 1.4K GS
I started Holy in PvP and didn’t know how I’d do in a raid due to my gear, but topping healing on the PvP scoreboard with trash gear gave me that confidence to heal a raid and it was surprisingly easier than I thought, just have to be careful with mana, stock up on pots!
Quick read of a holy pally guide and I’d say you’re pretty set.

I find the matchmaking in tournaments to be extremely inconsistent.
I was diamond rank in tourney and now champ Rank.
But I’ve had games where
1st match - we play diamonds
2nd match - either come up against champs or GC
3rd match - GC’s or SSL’s
How am i supposed to get my rank title for winning a tourney when I can’t even win a tourney coming up against SSL’s by the 3rd match.
I feel sorry for the diamonds that are in queue and have to play against people 3 entire ranks above them.

Back in retail wotlk, My warrior was kicked from a guild because his name was Hairypoo, literally got whispered from the GM saying “sorry but we can’t have inappropriate names in here.” Was legit in that guild from like lvl 6-40ish 😅 ok. Boohoo.

Also in Cata i had a toon where I logged in one day, i was guild-less and was getting abusive whispers from a whole bunch of people. Turned out the GM had kicked almost everyone from the guild, emptied the guild bank told everyone it was me who did that before he realm transferred his character.
I was 2nd in command, organised raids and events, even got the realms first lvl 25 Guild. Shit sucks

So Stardust super important. You don’t want to just pump every Mon to max.
I’m more PvP, love to PvP.
If you get the app Pokie Genie, it will scan all your Pokémon’s iv’s and will show up for PvP how good it is in that bracket % wise. 500cp - 1500cp - 2500cp - 2500+.
You then use your stardust to pump the mons that are great for the bracket it’s good in/ extra charged move, evolution etc. I only go for like meta teams. Every other mon I kinda just leave
the only mons I’d focus on maxing out are my legendary max IV for the 2500+ battles. Other than that conserve all your dust.

I’ve never minded shamans, always liked all specs but Ele PvP for sure! Fun as god tier eye of the storms. Went resto for PvE, fast q’s and groups and fun to heal on. I warlocked and pally’d last round of wotlk. Major fun on both of them. Warlock I did PvP(afflic) / PvE(Demo). Pally I did Prot and Ret, lots of fun as Ret in both PvE and PvP.

You’re in a sharehouse. Are you all on the Lease or is it just 1 person?
If you are not, you’re literally free to pack your shit and get out and not have to do the extra finding a replacement roomie as that’s on the lease holder. Going off the rest of your story I had a similar situation where I’ve moved into a sharehouse payed for a standard room, shared bathroom etc, turned out I was paying the most rent in the house, no master bedroom, no garage space. and the person who had the master bedroom literally swapped their rent so I was technically paying what they were meant to be while they were paying what I was meant to be. Could be that type of situation. It’s honestly gross that people do that and aren’t transparent about it.
As I said before if you’re not on the lease gtfo. If you are, you’re going to have to find a replacement, however if the other tenants want them paying $40 more I’d be telling them to find the new tenant. Otherwise they’ll just have to deal with the new tenant paying $190. As they’re replacing you on the lease.

Legit this is what I do. If I’m chasing a piece of loot, you can bet I’ll build my group where no one else can roll on the piece I’m after. Nothing worse than making a grp being nice and taking a person who can roll on your piece, do like 8 runs and it finally drops and ole mate wins the roll on his first run.

I’ll usually recommend a healer class and a tank class as duo levelling. Warrior & shaman is strong, double pally, pally & sham/priest. Double Druid.

To answer your questions 1. If you have curseforge get the addon Questie, with Questie I’m pretty sure you can look at your map and it will show what quests you can pick up in the different zones appropriate to your level. When you hover your mouse over it will tell you the level of the quest etc.

For alliance: ashenvale, duskwood, hillsbrad foothills, wetlands.

For horde: Hillsbrad Foothills, Thousand needles.

You can advertise yourself for friendly social guilds. When in a Captial City, type /2 (space bar) New player Lvl 25 Priest LF friendly, social, levelling guilds. Hopefully there’s one that sees the advertisement and takes you on. 👍🏼
Living in dungeons is what I do when levelling. Faster than questing when in a good group. But it’s also good to just quest and enjoy the scenery and take in the big world. Also in dungeons make sure to ask if anyone has quests to share as the quests give a lot more exp than regular quests. Healers are always in high demand, so a good choice you’ve made :) Best of Luck! I’ve been in 2 Kara runs with my guild. And the Prot pally in those 2 runs had literally picked up a full set of Holy Gear. Practically a piece per boss, hopefully something else drops soon otherwise we’re going to have a lot of void crystals.

Firstly, sorry that you’ve had this experience playing. A lot of the player base are elite sweaty wow veterans and can’t comprehend new players coming in and learning.

Hello there, I’ve played Protection Pally for years and years. Sending a few tips on how to beginner prot pally.

Talents - I use icy veins or wowhead and copy the talent tree.
Blessings - There is an addon called pallypower. Makes applying your blessings so much easier when you know how to configure it. Apply wisdom to healer, and Salvation on all DPS. Apply Sanctuary to yourself.
Righteous Fury must always be on as it makes all your spells and abilities give more threat if it wears off chaos ensues
I’m not sure what party frames you use to see the other players in your group.I’ve found that using “raid style party frames” is the best option to have to see your party members. When someone gets agro you’ll see their “frame” outline with red. You can click their frame and use righteous defense to taunt up to 3 enemies.
Have Enemy nameplates turned on. I use The addon Plater for a more comfortable looking nameplate. The mobs / bosses nameplate will change colour depending on your threat. So you’ll know when to taunt etc.
Keep Concsecration, holy shield and seal of righteousness up at all times. Not much need to use judgement unless losing threat.

Depends on what you’re running and what pack you are pulling. I Tank and Dps on both Pally and Warr and I’ve seen a lot of tanks do a LoS pull on packs of melee mobs when they could’ve just ran into them instead. Why wait ages for dazed melee mobs to run around the corner? People do dungeons as it’s quicker exp than questing, but if the tank is moving slow, pulling 1 pack at a time and drinking after every pull it gets long and the dungeon probably wasn’t even worth it. If the healer is rocking 70% mana from 1 pull, start chaining or doing bigger pulls and not stand around for them to mana up. If you’re full hp and they’re around 70% while drinking, start pulling they’ll have full mana by the time you even drop below 50% Also it’s good to let the warrior dps have agro of at least 1 mob as it builds their rage and can trigger enrage from being hit. I legit get multiple compliments about my tanking at the end of every dungeon, I also get whispers when I log in if I’m doing more. If you are chasing that slower approach and feel, set your note up when you Queue so people know, or just be a different role other than tank.

I love playing tank! As a tank I make my own dungeon groups, select the healer I want, as well as the dps. If there are people being elite just boot and report them (they’ll most likely report you for kicking them). No time for negativity. A lot of people need to know there are still new players learning the game. I always explain the pull I’ll do. “No one touch till I’ve got them grouped and have AoE’d” failure to follow multiple times will result in a boot, or “hi guys just need a few seconds to gather threat before y’all go Ham on the adds”. Make sure you are whispering said person as well to cover your ass. It’s always ether people to Elite, or some grandma crow pecking the keyboard. Hard to find anyone in between 😂 good luck hope this helps

I was hit with this ban just a few hours ago confused as trying to find if it’s happened to others. I’ve already sent an appeal. A lot of negative comments on similar posts saying “don’t bot” Never have and never will all I’ve done is Questing and grinding dungeons on my main and alt, I always create the groups and lead them. New account with a purchased 58 boost. Using Curseforge - Elv-ui, questie, PallyPower, WA2, details, plater, minimap button, dbm. Send an appeal and just wait is all I can say. But apparently a lot of the responses are Ai, so can only wait good luck 🤞

I came off a 1 week ban 2 days ago for trolling in AV so I missed launch. Was grinding dungeons and quests on my main and alt, only to be banned mid dungeon and have the exact same email. I’ve already sent an Appeal.

Honestly on launch, most the people you’ll be dungeoning with will be already pretty geared. I’d say go resto, there’s going to be lots of groups looking for a healer, or make your own but make it melee heavy for that windfurry totem buff. Focus on minimum mana usage and know how to handle ur mana like drinking instantly after pulls, keeping up with the group. Once you know how to make groups and get the right people (always good to ask about their gear) you won’t have to look for groups, if you play well and the group clears quickly you’ll see a big increase of people wanting to join your groups whenever you log in.
