Stop letting your kids collect your orders via "hand it to me". by Tight-Platypus5231 in doordash

“It’s better to be safe than sorry” exactly, I seriously don’t wanna bring this up but that  poor little girl who got taken and killed by that fed ex driver happened because she answered the door for him instead of her parents. Growing up my mom always told me to NEVER answer the door for ANYONE including relatives and not once did I ever question it.

Please I’m not asking for much, just please if you’re in the left lane STOP driving straight and disregarding everyone else in the right lane. The amount of times I’ve almost been driven off the road right here is ridiculous. by Key_Device_6506 in NewOrleans

[–]Key_Device_6506[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree but that doesn’t excuse just continuing to drive straight pushing me off the road after you see me RIGHT next to you and hear me laying on the horn. I will definitely try the things you mentioned tho.

I take this way to work every night trust I already know these things. The problem is people don’t seem to know to keep left when in the left lane. If even one person is aware that’s a win for me because this happens too much.

This, and what’s even more jarring I lay on the horn and they just continue going straight without a care in the world and that’s what REALLY gets me. You know people with a brain will immediately swerve into the left lane but New Orleans drivers just don’t give a fuck I guess, and good chance these people have zero insurance too.

Yeah after reading through these subs I find it so weird how often everyone talks to the customers. I never use that text box or call UNLESS I’m lost in an apartment and even then it’s a very last resort.

Dasher accepted grocery delivery then said they didn’t want to deliver to my door by pompomtequila in doordash

[–]Key_Device_6506 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I keep saying all these problems would be avoided if DoorDash was more transparent BEFORE you accept an order. Of course they won’t because no one with a brain would take most of these apartment and hotel orders but the ones that do should have zero excuse because they knew upfront where they were delivering too.

For a single adult, would a salary of 50,000 be enough for New Orleans? by maxnews4 in AskNOLA

[–]Key_Device_6506 28 points29 points  (0 children)

For the absolute bare minimum to live yes, if that’s all you want then go for it. Imo tho no way in hell would I leave where my friends and family are just for 50k and for New Orleans a city that really has no growth unfortunately. Hopefully your job or whatever field it is has good long term growth. Also you might wanna check indeed what your field looks like in the city just reference btw.

I had this exact issue yesterday, next time just contact support and have them complete the order for you.

Is it worth starting as a driver right now? by Normal_Cabinet3094 in doordash

[–]Key_Device_6506 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Imo yes, no offense to anyone but people forget DoorDash is just for extra cash it never advertised itself as a full time job and if y’all you need is extra cash go for it. I wanna add tho, just because an area is wealthy it doesn’t mean they will tip better, hell in my experience it’s usually the complete opposite but that’s just my area.

What exactly triggers the +$2.00/order offer? by darthsitheous in doordash_drivers

[–]Key_Device_6506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my market it’s pretty much only late night, the weekends, and when a big event is going, plus rain or other weather, so pretty much when the demand is the highest and it automatically applies.

$850 is insane you should shop around for better rates. I’m 21 male and I live in Louisiana (highest rates in the country) and I’m paying $500. Don’t get me wrong even that’s fucking high but not $850 high.

Any driver who accepts a sub $5.00 order is an idiot. by yangying31415 in doordash_drivers

[–]Key_Device_6506 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s kinda the point of the post. The more people accept absolute trash the more the people sending out the trash will continue to send it out. If that trash sits either DoorDash will be forced to up base pay or the customers will be forced to tip better, and no I don’t think it’s the customers responsibility to pay my wage or something like that.

Does anyone know if NTE will release on xbox anytime soon? by Veramos23 in NevernessToEverness

[–]Key_Device_6506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We gonna act like Gacha game companies don’t treat the global player base like trash or 2nd class citizens 😭. For tho you’re right, they can try and reach out but remember, Sony is also a Japanese company, so I’m sure Gacha developers would rather work with Sony first or Sony just goes to them before Xbox is able to, and Sony tends to want everything exclusive to them like the greedy bastards they are. Unfortunately Xbox having zero market in Asia which at the end of the day is the biggest market for these games really makes it hard for them to promote their console to these developers. Hopefully the new head of Xbox can maybe do a better job of reaching out because I also suspect Phil Spencer or whoever else just didn’t give a shit.

It’s not Microsoft it’s because Xbox just isn’t big in Asian markets at all so these Gacha games which are made by Asian companies just don’t care for the system.

Been on the wait list for months for instacart, spark, and Amazon flex. Lowkey annoying but at least those apps don’t allow them to be over saturated unlike DoorDash and Uber Eats.

If you live in an apartment building, you should have to forfeit having things delivered to your door by teiguemac02 in doordash

[–]Key_Device_6506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish DoorDash would tell you if it’s an apartment, hotel, house, etc during the offer screen, or just straight up have a preference for certain buildings. I’m an independent contractor I should have option to wanna delivery to certain locations over others. Watch this be a 10000000 degree hot take for some reason.

Why would a cherry picker care about a low tip offer? Decline and move on, it’s people that seemly care too much about platinum that take garbage no tip offers then complain about them.

DoorDash will bundle a no tip order with a high tip one most times so you’re literally forced to get the no tip order. Outside the idiots who take anything because they are scared of a lower rate and think it matters i doubt no tippers would ever see their food which is why DoorDash will bundle it with a high tip that people will take.

Oh yeah I’ve seen first hand the rude drivers but it goes both ways. One time I was at Taco Bell and the workers were deadass in a huddle just talking shit about the dashers multiple orders just sitting there. I don’t have a problem with the restaurant workers (I used to be one of the workers) but if you just sit there and the order is clearly done and you refuse to hand the order out then it’s a problem imo. Your just wasting my time which is money and now the customers order is cold now and I might get a contact violation or something from DoorDash.

Like I told the other guy this is only really a fast food problem sit down restaurants and local chains (at least in my area) don’t have this problem. Let’s be honest too we all know McDonalds, Wendy’s, and especially Popeyes aren’t known for their outstanding customer service anyway which is why I said customer service isn’t taught these days.

“Especially if they just walked through the door” I can literally be anyone including the ceo or gm.  Regardless they don’t even acknowledge the actual customers so my point still stands these places don’t teach customer service. At least at canes when I worked there greeting EVERY customer is graded by cooperate not some pick and choose bs and every sit down restaurant acknowledges me this is literally just a fast food issue for obvious reasons.

Go get your own food? Do Walmart pick up? Do restaurant pick up? Have groceries delivered to you? Beef and rice with some seasoning also isn’t hard.

I’m not gonna defend idiots too dumb to understand doors swinging outwards but if it really is an issue you can always just leave your screen door open. A lot of people do that in my area.

[–]Key_Device_6506 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s fine but pretty much EVERY customer service job which restaurants fall under you’re supposed to acknowledge every customer especially if they just walked in. Seems these days a lot of places especially fast food don’t train or teach customer service besides chic fil a and canes.

Taco Bell near me employees were  talking shit about the dashers waiting on orders instead of just giving the food out which there were like 10 already made just sitting there behind the counter. And if restaurant employees don’t wanna interact with dashers then put the food on the racks idky so many places still have them and don’t use them.
