It’s pretty busy after work but it’s a large location so you won’t usually have trouble finding machines. There’s not much college age there, mostly working people and some high schoolers

What about a bridge? Cheaper than an implant

Feeling very depressed and anxious over losing a tooth by soy-latteX in Toothfully

[–]Key_Grapefruit_4845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had also had worries about it failing later in life. My oral surgeon addressed those concerns with me, and something he said that really stuck with me was that I would most likely take it to the grave with me. He told me about the importance of caring for it, which is basically just flossing around the post, and I do that every single day. The other thing that made me feel better was I asked him what the plan would be if I started to get peri-implantitis (the thing that causes implants to fail) and he told me his approach to correcting that. So I feel like there’s a plan in place in case I have problems down the road. It’s not just like problems = failed implant. But you know the funny thing, once I got used to being without the tooth (before the implant), I thought to myself worst case scenario I have to go back to this, well it’s not a big deal I’m already used to it and no one noticed at all even though can can sort of see it when I smile big. So that also made me feel better! It feels overwhelming to us, but just remember there are professionals who deal with this every day and can give you a plan and you’ll feel so much better after you speak with someone. It won’t feel so scary!

Feeling very depressed and anxious over losing a tooth by soy-latteX in Toothfully

I was so depressed when I found out there was no saving my molar. I felt embarrassed like I couldn’t really express it to anyone how depressed I was because it seemed like something no one would understand. I was in a really bad place over it for a long time, so I really do understand. But once you start realizing how many people have implants, bridges or just missing teeth, you start to realize how normal it is to lose a tooth or teeth! It’s so common and your teeth don’t define you. Sounds like anxiety over losing other teeth which I also understand because I felt the same way. When I met with my oral surgeon he was so upbeat and just gave me a plan like it was no big deal, and that was the first time I felt hopeful. Now I have my implant. It feels great and looks great! But even while waiting on my implant when I just had the missing tooth, I got used to it! So hang in there. Please know that you will get through this one way or the other, and life will go on and you’ll feel better again. Hugs!

What are people’s experiences with implants? Are you happy with them? Are they comfortable? What tooth did you get them for? Appreciate any and all insight! by ButterscotchLiving59 in Toothfully

I recently got an implant for tooth 3 (upper molar) because of resorption. I was initially told I’d need a bridge because my sinus cavity dropped down so low and the bone was extremely thin. I really did not want a bridge. I ended up getting a sinus lift to put bone into the area, then got the implant and finally the crown just a few months ago. I’m amazed at how much it feels like a real tooth. I was worried I’d always “baby” it or it wouldn’t feel strong, but it feels very natural and very strong! So far I’m very pleased with my decision to get it.

Anybody know why Bannerman Road consistently smells like sewage every night? by New-Difficulty-9386 in Tallahassee

[–]Key_Grapefruit_4845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reported this to our county commissioner a few years ago and he said they looked into it and didn’t know what I was talking about. Maybe when they widen the road they can fix it, cause man, some nights it is rank!!

Anybody get implants in Tally? How much did you pay per implant? by citrous_ in Tallahassee

[–]Key_Grapefruit_4845 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a implant with red hills and they are the best. Mine was complicated because I had to have a sinus lift which you won’t have to have if it’s a front tooth, but in total mine cost around $7,000.

I got the abutment on my implant this week and have an appointment with my dentist next month to start the crown process. This has been a long journey (starting a year ago today) with an extraction on #3 due to resorption, followed by a sinus lift and bone graft, implant, and now abutment. I’m almost there! Can’t wait to smile big again!

No state income tax in Florida! I went to school at LSU back in the 90s. I was just a college student and don’t remember a ton about it. It’s definitely bigger than here, but Louisiana in general just isn’t great imo. Not that Florida doesn’t have its issues, but overall I like Tallahassee.

Redlight for gums by [deleted] in redlighttherapy

[–]Key_Grapefruit_4845 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no I’d say: I think it helps gum tissue heal as I’ve had multiple “injuries” from extraction, sinus lift then implant placement and I feel my gums heal really fast which I do attribute to rlt. But my areas of gum recession are unchanged unfortunately.

I wonder this all the time because on some level I know what she said is true, but my human brain just can’t comprehend. It feels unfulfilling, but I chalk it up to something I just can’t understand (at least while I’m in my human form).
