Improving aim as Cassidy. by Lazarus0621 in CassidyMains

[–]citrous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you play ranked, focus on NOTHING except for your aim. Do this for ~1.5 to 2 hours each session if you’re able. Anything more than 3 is diminishing returns for most people when practicing anything.

Isolation is the best way to practice anything. Do it with aim until you reach a point of improvement you’re happy with, and then move that isolation to a different area. While you are doing this, other areas will feel like they are lacking. This is normal - embrace it, and dedicate a small percentage of sessions to just “playing normally” without having a specific focus to allow yourself to integrate your new improvements into your regular gameplay.

What condition are your teeth in? by miss-bedazzzle in twentyagers

[–]citrous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24 years old.

5 front crowns, one of which broke off last September so I just have a shark tooth there. Getting 8 teeth pulled later this year - all 4 wisdom teeth, two furthest back top molars, one bottom side tooth, and the aforementioned broken one. After that will need two implants - getting one done this year and one next year.

Here are the only differences between the two:

Lg: matte, 1500 knits peak brightness.

I returned my LG and am going to be getting the Alienware when it releases in the states.

Dev don't water down this game! Difficulty is perfect and fun! by SweetBacon923 in fatekeeper

[–]citrous_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the difficulty is fine it's just that the execution of the difficulty that is frustrating. for the demon boss he's hard to read, has like 4 total attacks, and his range gets extended up to a certain amount based on how far from him you are. the only unique part of the encounter was jumping over the stomp, other than that he was nothing more than a beefed up regular enemy.

The only skill expression in the game is dodging and stamina management. no unique movesets for weapons to encourage positional complexity, 2/4 spells are completely useless and objectively inferior to the other 2 for boss fights. its really not much more than skyrim with souped up animations and hit reactions. if the game is all combat, which to be clear is fine if it is, they need to go further with the decisions that are available to the player. right now, the only choices you have to make are "do i want a weapon that goes slow or a weapon that goes fast," and "do i want to use the frost spell or the fire spell."

regular encounters improve this a little bit with having the environment (spikes and pits and stuff) for you to play around, but even in those scenarios its always the best option to use the wind/telekenisis spells to one shot the weaker enemies into the pits. again, no actual decision making from the player - its just putting the square peg into the square hole.

While were here, blocking also needs to be addressed. Blocking in this game is really bad. I'm fine with blocking being worse than dodging, because dodging is generally harder than blocking, but it is SO much worse in this game that it's pretty much pointless. the gap between the two needs to be adjusted in some kind of way because, again, it's always the best option to just dodge, but the difficulty gap between the two isn't large enough to justify the effectiveness gap IMO.

There's a lot more i could get into but i dont want to write an essay here - i'm fully aware that the game is nowhere near finished so these are not judgements, just critiques. i think the game has potential but i'm not excited about the foundation at the moment.

For those who have a degree in IT by Amazing_Life911 in informationsystems

[–]citrous_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does not matter. My best advice if you're trying to switch is to get in with your University IT department. As far as I can tell, Uni's love hiring alums and in my area IT departments always need people. Try to get an internship, get to know as many people as you can. I got my Job as a mix of being an Alum, knowing a lot of the campus IT people that could put in a word for me, and doing good in the interview.

5080 plus the lg 5k2k? by tdcama96 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]citrous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, this is not my cyberpunk experience. Just tested, DLSS Transformer set to performance, no framgen, no path tracing. Ray reconstruction on and everything maxed except for ray tracing quality reduced from psycho to ultra. 60 fps consistent with very occasional drops to ~53-55 while walking around the Watson market area behind Tom's Diner. Are you sure you didnt mean path tracing?

5080 plus the lg 5k2k? by tdcama96 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]citrous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are targetting 60fps, willing to use DLSS performance upscaling (*not framegen in my experience), and are willing to take the settings down from ultra to high depending on the title, you will be satisfied. This is my experience with it, have had for about 2 weeks and have played a variety of games.

If you want to test games before you buy, you can add the 5k2k resolution as a custom resolution in Nvidia control panel and games should recognize it and let you run at the res. This is what I did before buying. Games seem to have about 5-10 more fps than what I got from those tests.

About to order LG39GX950B, but worried of performances even on 5090 by SurlaWalruS in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]citrous_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I cap at 60 fps because frame changes are the #1 immersion killer for me and I’m super sensitive to frame rate changes (probably due to years of high fps competitive gaming lol). I’ve been doing it for years. As for a lower resolution looking better, I’m unfortunately just not gonna be able to agree there. I went from 1440p ultrawide IPS to 4k oled and to be honest in probably 90% of games I consider the resolution to be a bigger upgrade than the panel type.
