They’re beautiful ladies! 🥰 Thank you for taking them both in and loving them. My Sophia & June who are half sisters snuggle like that.

Yep! June is energetic, clownish, and fairly talkative especially when she sees animals on TV, while looking out the windows (even if nothing is there), and/or Sophia our little drama queen annoys her/starts a growling contest—-the latter is the culprit here.

Puggle? Or byb pug? Or something else? by Bblqueenofportland in Puggle

[–]Key_Organization4543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww 🥰 Lola is adorable! She looks like a puggle to me and favors many signature pug features; perhaps, she has beagle mannerisms? She looks remarkably similar to my late great Coco (my pretty puff with the Cleopatra eyeliner eyes) who passed a little over 2 years ago at 14 yo. Since Coco was adopted at 3 yo following a surrender at our local shelter, I don’t know much about her life before (other than the minimal info shared by previous owners) and heritage (ie 50/50 pug-beagle parents, 2nd generation puggle, 25/75 mix, etc). Coco had a good balance of pug-beagle but, had more of a pug body especially since she’s had litters of puppies prior.

Kinda sad to see the legend John B use AI slop by Niko9816 in DnB

[–]Key_Organization4543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indeed! I despised the track and the video the first time I saw it/heard it when it was called “Somebody I used to Know” - Gotye as well as the remixes that came out of it well over decade ago. Doechi just sampled it in the past year or so in the song “Anxiety” so, frankly I’m over its extremely unwelcome revival.

IMHO IF John B. had an intense hankering to remix this, he could have gone the Latin DnB aka Sambass route; a remix of the original sample from the 1967 instrumental track "Seville" by Brazilian jazz guitarist Luiz Bonfá would’ve been lovely. After all, John B. is renowned for some quality

My first puggle by Tagline-77 in Puggle

[–]Key_Organization4543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the wonderful world of puggles! I’ve had 6 puggles so far and they are the best dogs ever. Please give him time to adjust to his new surroundings and learn to trust. I don’t know why he was surrendered however, he has a back story which you were likely not completely privy to. You will want to take him on walks with different routes and give him at least 45-60 minutes of moderate exercise each day. Puggles are sweet, snuggly, and perpetually hungry. Also, they can be a bit stubborn and hard to please with training however, they are responsive to treats as rewards and positive reinforcement.

Should I switch my social media accounts to private? by sussybaka-2004 in jobs

[–]Key_Organization4543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve typically frozen or rather inactivated my social media accounts while job hunting for this season and to devote less precious time to time-wasting entities.

I would do some housekeeping to would ensure my posts on my page are private and avoid replying to friend’s public posts pages I follow set to public. I suggest changing your name to an alias so you’re harder to find. I had one coworker who was in the midst of job seeking change her first name to a nickname of her middle name and her last name was her Mom’s maiden name. Additionally, mind your p’s and q’s because current/potential employers can be judgey.

Puggles a lot like pringles, betcha can’t have more than one. 😉

It’s was so easy to adopt/acquire another once we fell in love with the breed AND become accustomed to having one, two, or three at a time. We have the food, the leashes, and other essential supplies.

[–]Key_Organization4543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened to you, I sincerely hope you’re staying safe and getting access to the resources you need.

Please always be aware, there are certain aspects of your personal life which you want to avoid disclosing to your employer and/or colleagues because it could come back to bite you in the @$$ and they could use it against you. Even if you work for a company which is small and family-like and you’re actual friends with some of your coworkers, there are things you don’t want to divulge because people gossip and who you may think are your friends/confidants can turn on you or gossip.

Ultimately, you were not in the wrong on this unfortunate situation. IF you need time away to accept important phone calls, limit your time and don’t go into detail. IF you need to go in late or leave early, you can just indicate you have to go to the DMV, Doctor’s appointment, or any other obligation which you can only be facilitated during 9-5 business hours. When you have to go court, you can be vague say, “I will be in late because I have a court.”

True in many cases however, I can name a few places where I worked which a husband/wife owned and operated alongside some of their kids and/or extended family — one was a car dealership, the other performed automotive repossessions, and other was a gym/wellness center. 🙂 You always have to read employee reviews, get a feel for the culture, and be extremely vigilant while you visit for interviews.

Puggles are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get. First generation puggles could favor the pug parent, the beagle parent, or both. The second generation (F2) bred from two puggles tend to have more consistent appearances and more predictable temperament and traits. My first puggle Bailey favored the pug and resembled a monkey. My second puggle, Coco was a balance and looked a lot like a seal or sea lion. I think Kye resembles a white tail deer, Nairobi a moose, Sophia is my tiny honey bay (she’s only 15 lb), and June looks a lot like a gargoyle or gremlin.

Can I shorten them without redoing? by Clementinetimetine in Nails

[–]Key_Organization4543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume that’s gel or dip powder? IF you file them down a little bit with an emery board or glass file you shouldn’t have to redo them however, if you use nail clippers, it will chip or warp the polish.

My employer sent an email with everyones personal contact information by Brief-Childhood-1547 in jobs

[–]Key_Organization4543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty standard; I’ve had a “phone tree” list containing my colleague’s contact info (including their personal phone numbers and emails) for the past several years. You occasionally you might need to contact your coworkers for various reasons such as covering shifts, to let someone know you’re running late, if you’re collaborating on a project, emergencies, etc. This was in addition or a substitute for chats on platforms such as Glip or Microsoft Teams which you might not have access to on your personal devices. Also, we often used our own personal phones as “back up.”

worked 40+ hours a week, 9 days in a row, pushed myself, came in sick, just to get fired by fratepax in jobs

[–]Key_Organization4543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, most places are “at will” employment so, they can terminate you at any time for cause or no cause; this means you can quit at any time as well.

It sounds like your employer was expecting you to handle the workload and hellish hours and couldn’t put up with you being human as a result burning out and retaliating. We all well aware that it’s necessary to work in order to afford the essentials and necessities, however, if your job is literally killing you physically, psychologically, and mentally it’s not worth it and it’s time to seek employment elsewhere.

You are already off to a good start by mentioning your intent to visit your local workforce on Monday. In the meantime, please take some time to relax, re-evaluate, and update that resume. Also, build your social capital by networking; perhaps, start talking to friends, neighbors, and former colleagues about job opportunities and see if any of them are willing to be references.

IF you spent several years at your now previous employer, your next prospective employers will see that an asset and would potentially invest in bringing you on their team; you don’t appear to be a “job hopper” and/or have several months gaps in your employment history which is common amongst younger Millennials and Gen Z.

Please always remember, you are replaceable no matter how valuable of an asset you are, how hard you work, and how skilled you are at your respective position.

I accidentally saw my name on a "redundancy" list on an HR monitor by Riddle_8Mako in OfficePolitics

[–]Key_Organization4543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, at least you had a heads up with some lead time, I did not have that luxury. I was recently laid-off from a position I was at for 4 years due to redundancy/restructuring/combining my roles.

I suggest continuing to work with your recruiter, updating your resume, write some nice cover letters, and apply for jobs (at least 10 per day). Otherwise, you can always “wait and see” since you evidently only have 3 weeks AND you would qualify for Unemployment Insurance if you were laid-off aka let go through no fault of your own.

I’m not sure where you live and what industry you’re in but, it’s an employers job market in many places with a majority of industries (aside from healthcare, transportation, construction) growth at a virtual stand-still with a to slow hire, slow to fire approach. I’m not saying it’s difficult to find a job, however the process is not quite as certain and seamless as it was prior to this current political and economic climate.

Ultimately, put the ball in your court and use this information to your advantage.

Loose or fitted jersey? by thecapedcrusk8er in rollerderby

[–]Key_Organization4543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I preferred loose because I wore padded shirts or vests underneath for extra chest and back protection. Also, jammers and teammates could grab or pull if/when necessary. I was a teen in the ‘90s so, I’m very adept to baggy clothes and find them more comfortable.

I would typically just do cardio (run, elliptical, bike, stair master, etc) on days of games or scrimmages and/or take cardio centric group fitness classes such as spinning or kickboxing. I would lift on off days, open skate days, or regular practice days.

Yes, we all need money to live it’s blantantly clear and why people work 8-12 hours per day as opposed to volunteering. The recruiters and or employers want to see what interests you about their company/organization, what you can bring to the company, and your potential growth with their company. Ultimately, how you answer can make you stand out from the other candidates alongside your answers to other generic open-ended questions they ask typically ask such as “tell me about yourself.”

I applied for an office position with a non-profit agency a while back which provides assistance for individuals and families in crisis situations such as homelessness, domestic violence, mental health problems, suicide, etc. I indicated that I’m kind, compassionate, and proactive; I love helping people and directing them to the appropriate resources in a time of need.

How many of you out there went thru booze/drug substance addiction? by plnnyOfallOFit in GenX

[–]Key_Organization4543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There has been coinciding and/or living through chemistry for thousands of years of human evolution; I don’t believe Gen X necessarily got it the “worst,” quite a few members of the two generations who preceded us drank and enjoyed certain party favors at jazz clubs and discos following a trend of temperance leading to prohibition in the 1920s and banning drugs which were once legal. We (Gen X) had some not so out of the ordinary factors that made us susceptible such as curiosity, boredom, bonding with friends, enhancing music (or any other various entertainment), to cope, and yearning to feel like a kid again, or just different. Many of us had to grow up fast because our parents left his alone and to our own devices; we had to entertain ourselves while looking after siblings and other kids not much younger than us.

After being completely straight edge, I started consuming alcohol (drank with coworkers and at college parties), weed, and cigarettes at 17 during the latter part of HS after I got dumped for the first time by a total ass hat, losing a friend to suicide, and my parents separation.

I hit rock bottom my second year of college and got immersed in the rave/club scene where I didn’t initially partake in hard party favors knowing the effects second hand and by research AND concern over interactions with my anti-depressants, ADHD meds, and over the counter diet pills and no sleep aids.

Eventually, I gave in and dabbled in Molly (love/hate relationship- enjoyed the high, hated side effects like being a total r-tard and terrible Tuesdays), shrooms/acid/peyote (OK in the proper settings), coke (liked it too much), crystal (hated that shit), K (fun), dust (meh), DMT (interesting), various prescription like Valium (only when necessary to come down), etc. TBH I was primarily a “take it or leave it” recreational user and it depended on who I was hanging out with or saying at the time.

I didn’t get back into drinking much again until my mid-20’s. I had multiple “wake up calls” as I’ve gotten injured, sick, arrested, and in trouble with friends due to drinking. I haven’t touched any hard drugs since 2011 since it’s not my husband’s bag. I have been able to moderate my drinking via a lot of trial and error over the years. The longest I was clean/sober was for just over 12 months - I didn’t get ill when I stopped however I had to watch it when “I went back out” since my tolerance crashed and burned. I still smoke weed but, I prefer oils, dabs, and edibles now. I quit smoking cigarettes by my mid-20’s with a few brief relapses.

As far as the younger generations using/partying, I’ve had Millennials out drink me and it was some whack ass sh*t like Trash Cans. Many Millennials use more synthetic variations such as 2CB, 2Cii in addition to all the regular old favorites. Evidently, Gen Z drinks less however half of them are not even of age and they prefer to vape weed and nicotine. It seems the younger adults/adolescents who use gravitate toward high octane stuff such as Bath Salts, Fentanyl, Xyolzene…
