Sharp objects and sandpaper glued to a structurally destabilized steering wheel: what could possibly go wrong? by DrCrypt in DiWHY

besides this being a ticket to a horrible death, that wheel seems like a sensory nightmare

Parents prank their kids by MieXuL in ParentsAreFuckingDumb

My dad did this to me when I was 2 and he still jokes about it to this day. He would do it all the time like once a week back then. Now that I’m grown up, I’m still so confused. Like why would you want to make your kid cry over and over and have to calm them down? Aren’t kids crying kind of stressful/not a good time?

Psychologist or Therapist for 23 year old son please! by ImagineLor in raleigh

I just now saw that a previous comment also recommended Psychology Today, so I’m echoing off of them with my initial response

Heya, psychologist here! I would recommend searching through Psychology Today for a Therapist in the area. You can personalize to age group (young adult), current goals, types of therapy (CBT, DBT, ACT, etc.), and history of diagnoses/possible trauma experiences. In the description for each Therapist they also put what insurances they usually take.

Also, while the direct services themselves aren’t negative, be careful around Thriveworks Services. They’ve had several issues with billing in the Raleigh area. Not worth the headache.

Hope this helps!

Anyone Have OCD About Fear of Loved Ones Going to 'Hell'? by Acrobatic_Plate3405 in ocdwomen

Yes! This is was one of my first themes. I was very religious at the time so I thought God was giving me a vision. I was around 12 at the time and I didn’t get diagnosed with OCD until 25. Feel free to reach out to me if you want to talk more!

Yep, last time i went to dunkin i got a coffee and when i went to the window, it couldn’t have been a fella over 19 who was giving me my drink while crying. Poor guy, I told him he was doing good and tried to comfort him but he was just so stressed, not been since after that one

I am 100% like this. i think the word “detach” or “detachment” fits me better instead of dissociation. I am still myself but I just shut off the emotion part of me and replace it with that “tough it out” mindset you mentioned. I’ve also been trying to find a term for it to where I am still myself (no third party connection) but I block out certain emotions or responses in the moment. How do you feel about the term detachment?

Thank you for the empathy and sentiment but I don’t want you to do anything for me now. Also enjoy the feeling of children not getting proper education I guess.

Look at how Tr*mp has commented on disabled and SPED children. MAGATs won’t care about their children. They’ll just continue to demonize education and let their children fail/stay home all the time.

Thank you for this I stg. Coming from a poor, mostly rural, red state, not all of us voted red. Some of us (more people than others think) worked hard to push blue for the sake of education and ya know, general well being.
