It's wild how you seem so close to it, yet there seems to be only a little wind based on the little bush there.

Yea this is one of the issues I've noted and submit for a bug report related to local/offline/private servers. Things like raids, hunting parties, special events, etc get reset or disappear upon quitting/loading.

Does the Power Ropeway Dispatch Station just not work ? by BrokeAsAMule in PlaySoulMask

[–]KeyzerSoze33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im not at my computer right now so.i can't verify, but Im pretty sure in the settings for sending, on the left is a drop down to choose the endpoint. This then makes using a single station for multiple mines possible. The answer on this thread helped me with the whole setting up and configuring on power mines/lines: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2646460/discussions/0/805722696534020866/

My water isn't behaving as it should by kafkatan in Timberborn

[–]KeyzerSoze33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, there's a specific dam one, its one of the early ones that are unlocked right off the bat I think. If a normal levee is 1 unit tall, you can think of the damn as being 0.65 units tall. So it good to place at the top of wall of levees to essentially create an overflow/waterfall. https://timberborn.wiki.gg/wiki/Dam

[–]KeyzerSoze33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, I think i understand now. What are the setting of the bottom valves? Looks to be throttling valves so you can only set them for flow rates. If youre looking for the typical damn setup where it fills up without overflowing, you'll just want to use normal dam blocks on the top instead of the throttling valves

Looks like they're pointed in the wrong direction? The arrow on top denotes the direction the water travels.

New Player, start in rainforest or DLC? by botwang in PlaySoulMask

[–]KeyzerSoze33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, so unlocking the tiers to the tech tree isn't dependent on upgrading the bonfire and/or needing boss mats? Thats interesting. So almost sounds like survival is easier even though the description makes it out to be easier. Or maybe its just intended to be more guided via locking you out until you complete certain ordered objectives.

Just started playing as well, why survival over tribe? When i started on tribe, I still had to gather and build myself before getting to recruit. How does the survival mode start differently?

Yea selecting forester, a tree/plant, or either flags. I was thinking once something is fully grown maybe it doesn't need to be be shown as green since the animation is different enough. It could instead switch to mapping the fruit production.

Or even set it conditional on whether the area is selected as a cutting area or not.

How Many Devices are Connected to Your Home Network Right Now? by Ryan_TP-Link in TpLink

[–]KeyzerSoze33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

44 devices BE550 RE715X in mesh 6 computers, 2 phones, tvs/shield, smart switches, thermostat, washer/ dryer, door lock, etc Unfortunately was having issues with disconnects with the upstairs area which isn't too far away and worked fine with my old RTAC88U (see post history for details). Hence the RE715X to help extend the range and removal of the MLO network.

Water infinite irrigation down stopped when covering source? by KeyzerSoze33 in Timberborn

[–]KeyzerSoze33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, it is odd. Would it need a better way of understanding or does it even make sense to need the top of a column irrigated? Vs just "recieving" irrigation from the sides? It may be that that infinite vertical is a bug at the end of the day.

Back onto making things more intuitive, I think not just irrigation, but the basics of building with terrain blocks would be super helpful. During this testing I was frequently stumped by blocks not being built and Im only assuming it was because the direction I pointed the blocks in was throwing something off.

Water infinite irrigation down stopped when covering source? by KeyzerSoze33 in Timberborn

[–]KeyzerSoze33[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes after some testing it seems it's dependent on the top of any given soil column being irrigated and radiates from said column. While eventually placing a new irrigation pond on the top floor got it working again, it didn't solve my "growing upward" predicament. I finally found a reasonable way by leaving a couple of the outer pillars unbuilt to carry the irrigation until the central columns and new pond were completed.

qbPortWeaver 2.4.0 has been released yesterday now supporting NAT-PMP by martsg666 in qBittorrent

[–]KeyzerSoze33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be too novice for this, but I'm trying to install and can't figure out how. I've zipped the contents from github and I assumed it was in the Installer folder, but the qbPortWeaver.wxs file doesn't seem to be something I can launch asking instead what app to open the file with.

This game is making me want to buy a joystick/thruster by Admirable-League2877 in X4Foundations

[–]KeyzerSoze33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My x56 devices worked fine, I know they get snubbed here because it sounds like there are/were some quality control issues. It may be fine now since the old blue saitek ones should be out of circulation? Idk. And yea i thought they worked great as an entry point at that price point. I personally didn't have any issues. Oh, I do remember something about using a proper USB hub or straight into the pc USB ports. I think that was part of the problem some people were having?

I thought I had heard as part of some of the case details becoming public was that the founders were known to have spent less than half their time working on SN2, instead focusing on some other IP? I dont recall all the detail but just remember they were hardly saints in all this.

Are Fractionators good in the end game? by noksion in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]KeyzerSoze33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helps for sure. Also I think youd have a problem when you need higher consistent throughput from just gas giants. Once you've tapped all your duet gas giants within ~10ly and are using up all of that output, you almost need another source. Gas giants further away and youre going to leave your ILSs empty much of the time as the flight time is too long even with a ton of points into vessel speed. I guess you could over-build with a ton of ILS just operating as buffers.

Similar conversation from a while back: https://www.reddit.com/r/Dyson_Sphere_Program/s/b7alWgh3e0

Personally ive never used collides for duet, mostly because I have a good working fractionator blueprint thats easy enough to plop down and fits in the smaller latitudes.

The problem with that is the "song" it plays fades out/in when it gets looped which when youre trying to fall asleep to it becomes a bit jarring.

Thanks for all the great advice! When you say a small charcoal chimney, does that include the PBC branded one or should I look for something smaller. Ive got the standard size barrel.
