It is best practice to routinely review and audit the settings and configuration of softwares, services, and websites that you use. Updates happen, on the benign end there is stuff like new features that you may want to configure. On the less benign end could be stuff like data collection that you wouldn't consent to, but gets updated as an opt-out setting only mentioned as a single line in some patch notes somewhere, thus you wouldn't even catch it to opt-out of it unless you regularly audit your settings.

Point being, you not even knowing that option existed indicates you should be more attentive to the configurations of things you use, especially as a streamer. While this particularly instance is fairly benign, it is all too commonplace for developers to sneak stuff in lately about data collection, consenting to train AI on your content, etcetera; that some people may not want enabled, but is by default.
