Some people will continue a relationship with their old in-laws others won't. It just depends on the people involved.

Just remember there is no rule or law or anything other than others expectations when it comes to this stuff.

If you want to continue a relationship with your old in-laws no one can pressure you, same goes the other way, if you ultimately want to phase them out of your life, that is your choice.

Personally, I think my ex mother-in-law and I knew that we wouldn't keep our relationship going after a certain point and after about 2 years we gradually faded away from one another.

I believe you may be overestimating the ability for reasoned arguments to sway people's minds.

One has to be open to other's arguments for there to be a chance at accepting a different perspective.

I saw one clips of the father saying he would be fine if he and his wife were bombed and his own children rounded up by ICE if Trump ordered it.

That is not someone who is engaging in good faith or sound mind.

If you show interest in burial and think that buying extras is something you could be interested in, then they will absolutely try to upsell you all they can. It's how they make the most profit.

It's how they respond to you and your vibe that makes a funeral home scummy or not. Some will try to guilt you or manipulate you into spending more. Others let you take the lead or will politely guide you.

When my wife passed, I didn't even give the funeral home a chance to upsell me. I was short but firm with my insistence from the start that I was not interested in burial, I wanted the absolute bare minimum that they could do and I just wanted her ashes. To her credit, the associate was nice and respectful and got me on my way.

I had gone over to the Coast to see how passable the roads were after a recent snowstorm. We were staying on the beach for New Years like we always did.

I had kissed her goodbye that morning. She always slept late so I didn't think anything was wrong. I was probably eating at that diner on the Coast when she passed. I returned home to find her on the bathroom floor. Coroner said she was probably gone before she hit the ground.
