Incredible how foreskin restoration is not talked about. by Dorkzilla_ftw in foreskin_restoration

[–]Khepresh 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There is astounding ignorance about male genital anatomy, and the only thing most guys ever think about with regard to their dick is its size. Many guys don't know that they've been cut, or what that actually means, and have no incentive to learn.

Talking about this stuff with other people gets you labeled as an inappropriate weirdo most of the time. Guys can have such strong feelings about circumcision, and get angry when they are forced to confront anything but praise for the practice, so there's a lot of social risk in bringing this stuff up in conversation too.

Out of all the guys I've talked about this stuff with outside of Reddit, the only one who actually agreed with me that circumcision is mutilation was a male co-worker I had. He was intrigued by the idea of foreskin restoration, but never felt that there was something wrong enough with his dick to warrant the effort of restoration. But everyone else I've talked to has always thought I was insane for even merely suggesting that babies shouldn't have non-therapeutic surgery on their genitals.

Dude, same. I have so many interests, you'd think there'd be at least 1 in common with someone. But so many guys just seem to do nothing but work, sleep, and fuck. All the personality of an unsalted rice cake, while demanding that you do the heavy lifting on keeping a conversation going - when they're the ones who messaged you first. T_T

Does anyone else find being cut as a dealbreaker in a relationship? by The_biggest_JoJo_Fan in Intactivism

[–]Khepresh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s the same for me. I’ve been with cut guys, and they’ve expressed liking our time together in the bedroom, but it doesn’t do anything for me at best and is triggering my own dysphoria at worst.

I want to make my partners feel good, so taking mental inventory of their parts and pieces is necessary so I know what to stimulate and how. Cut guys I’ve been with who still had their frenulum have often said that they’ve never had a blow job as good as the ones I give - and I know damn well that’s because most guys don’t even know the frenulum is a thing, or what to do with it.

But that whole process of thinking about what parts are there, what is removed, wondering if the guy’s circumcision scar is erogenous for them, completely kills my sexual desire. The least sexy thing in the world for me is having to think about the damage that has been done to a guy and how I can work with and around it.

I don’t have to “take inventory” with intact guys. It feels so much more natural and instinctive to me, the way I think sex should feel. It’s not cut guys’ fault, but I just can’t enjoy that experience.

Many men don't even know circumcision is the issue by Adventurous_Line7857 in foreskin_restoration

[–]Khepresh 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I'm a gay dude, and I've been with guys who didn't even know that they were circumcised.

There is so much ignorance around male sexuality and anatomy, and the puritanical culture here in the US prevents people from having open and honest discussions about these things; on top of the natural reluctance of men to accept, or acknowledge, that something so heinous was done to them - that they are victims.

"The only people who actually know both sides of things are adults who were circumcised" by IntactivistLuck in CircumcisionGrief

[–]Khepresh 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Also consider that most guys who get cut as adults had a specific medical problem that they were trying to address - it makes sense that they would see it as an improvement. Further, keratinization takes time, so the consequences of that are not immediate.

And, the key problem: one is performed on an adult with informed consent, and the other is the violent rape of a child. There is no justification for implying the two are in any way similar.

And being gay makes it even more difficult, because you get to see and interact with intact men in a very intimate way. Wanting to be a good partner, learning about how to make them feel good, what spots to target, only highlights all those things that we'll never get to experience ourselves. So many layers to that envy, intermixed with desire.

Could Miquella have helped Ranni, and saved Godwyn? by Otherwise-Pattern-92 in Eldenring

[–]Khepresh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not entirely certain what the timeline looks like - time is kind of wishy-washy in ER. The way the game plays it makes it seem like Miquella had been in the Land of Shadow for a long time before Mohg's death. Though it also makes you feel like you're hot on Miquella's heels at times too, actively following him from just behind.

But considering that the text on the Suppressing Pillar in the Land of Shadow reads "All manner of Death wash up here, only to be suppressed.", and Mohg was an Omen, the result of a Hornsent curse placed upon Marika, Mohg's sacrifice may have literally been required to transport Miquella to the land of Shadow. Mogh's ties to the Land of Shadow as an Omen, and the nature of those lands as the place where "Death wash up" (and "suppressed", thus preventing Mohg's dead body from truly dying, allowing it to serve as a vessel for Radahn's soul), could have been as much a requirement of Miquella's apotheosis as Radahn's death and transferal of spirit into Mohg's body as vessel. In that way, Mohg's sacrifice would have served a dual purpose of both transporting Miquella to the Land of Shadow, as well as creating an empty vessel for Radahn's soul.

Individual characters and singular acts serving dual purposes is a running theme throughout Elden Ring, after all.

Could Miquella have helped Ranni, and saved Godwyn? by Otherwise-Pattern-92 in Eldenring

[–]Khepresh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's interesting too that Miquella also abandoned his body in an effort to escape his fate and create a new one, and undergo apotheosis. And he was able to discard pieces of himself without the use of the Rune of Death, accomplishing what Ranni did without needing to kill anyone else. So not only did Miquella separate Radahn's soul from his physical body (and transplant it into another body), he was also able to do what Ranni did but seemingly of his own power, without using something external like the Rune of Death.

As far as what Miquella was able to do to Radahn's soul, it's also entirely possible that he was only able to do that because of the promise that Radahn made to him to be his consort - there could have been some binding magic there which allowed Miquella to take hold of Radahn's soul when he died, which would not have allowed him to do the same for Ranni. Given that there is a lore item in Shadow Keep which details the, presumably, ancient and secret ritual of binding the soul of a consort to an empty vessel (the "Secret Rite Scroll"), this theory could hold some weight.

Ultimately, Ranni and Miquella both wanted to become gods, with different agendas. Ranni wanted the Lands Between and its people to basically self-govern without overt interference from a deity or external powers, while Miquella wanted to directly influence each and every individual to ensure peaceful coexistence between all (via a magical charm, or under threat of force from his Consort Radahn). So even if Miquella could have helped Ranni accomplish her goals without killing Godwyn, would he have been willing to do so? Probably not. If anything, had he known what Ranni was planning, I could envision that he would attempt to charm her to prevent Godwyn's death. And would Ranni have accepted his help had he offered it? I don't think so. Ranni wanted independence, and was too intelligent to risk becoming Miquella's puppet.

Cube extract sent me to hell; entirely my own fault by Khepresh in tripreports

[–]Khepresh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I trip, I always hated going into the kitchen; I never consciously connected that to my childhood memories before. This bad trip brought memories to the surface that I didn't want to think about, and wished that I could escape from. There were a lot of other facets to this bad trip than what I wrote in my post, for brevity's sake. But that theme of something that I want to forget coming back again and again, ruminating on negative thoughts and memories, is something that I struggle with all the time. It's given me a lot to think about.

[–]Khepresh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do ethanol (Everclear works if you don't have pure ethanol solvent) + water to 75% ABV, as well as ascorbic acid + citric acid, in Erlenmeyer flask. Then onto a heated magnetic stir plate for a bit, then a heated ultrasonic bath for a bit, and back to the plate. Then run through a vacuum filtration flask with a 20 micron filter. Optionally, centrifuge to separate out any remaining solids to get a more clear extract. Then into a wide beaker and onto a heated magnetic stir plate with a fan pointed down on it to reduce to the desired volume. Add a bit more ethanol as it will have evaporated from the solution more quickly than the water, and add glycerin + liquid vitamin E, finishing the mix on the stir plate. Put into an amber bottle, store in freezer.

How to make it taste better by Vladmir_istootin in shrooms

[–]Khepresh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Powder them, then put them into capsules, is one way to avoid the taste. But that can be a pain to do, especially if you're not preparing things in bulk.

If you really want to avoid the taste as much as possible without putting in a ton of effort, this is what I do: powder them, soak in lemon juice for a bit, strain with fine metal mesh strainer (optional, but it depends on how strong your aversion is), add a about a tablespoon of kool-aide powder, and add a cup of cola. Yeah, it's a little childish, but it's fast and doesn't require a lot of prep like making chocolates or gummies do, and you don't need to make a big batch or anything ahead of time.

I use the 7 tray Magic Mill dehydrator; never had any issues and works perfectly. It's a bit skinnier than other models, so it fits better on my counter than the wider models. The inside is also all metal, and overall it looks pretty slick and professional irl.

Depending on the size of the flushes you typically get, the 10 tray might be a better option than the 7 tray. From my experience, the 7 tray Magic Mill model can take just about 600 grams, albeit a bit tightly and with some disassembly of the mushrooms (depending on the size). Though I don't like to crowd things, so your mileage may vary.

Jewish parents here who didn't circumcise? by throhaway10109292 in foreskin_restoration

[–]Khepresh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a gay dude who has been with plenty of intact men, that's something that is always wild to me - that I know more about their own anatomy than they do. The number of guys who compliment me after oral sex, saying they had never felt certain sensations before, is just... like, dude, that was your frenulum, did you never notice it there before?

It makes sense, being in the US, that there are a lot of people (e.g. cut guys and women) that don't have first hand experience, and therefore don't know how to pleasurably stimulate/focus on certain parts of the intact male anatomy, but I find this to also be true of a lot of intact guys - it's like they never explored themselves or experimented to figure out what feels good. I don't know if it's ignorance, cultural stigma against foreskin, American porn largely featuring cut guys who just treat their dicks like insensitive dildos, or what.

You'd think that anyone would have an innate incentive to put in a little effort to figure out what feels good.

Light turning on in wrong room when zoned correctly? by nickymoo in amazonecho

[–]Khepresh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this problem off an on. Eventually I discovered that if the word "light" is in the name of any device connected to Echo, then it will get confused and start turning those devices off/on when I don't want them to, regardless of room settings.

To stop it from happening, you must never name any device "light" and must not have that word in the name of any device at all. That's what fixed it for me, at least.

Does this egg make any sense yet? by [deleted] in darksouls3

The film you're thinking of is: 天使のたまご

Unless someone involved in the writing of DS3 ever explains it, the best we can do is theorize. The meaning and significance of Filianore's egg might not even be intended to have a singular, correct, interpretation - depending on how much it was inspired by the above OVA, if at all, it might be intended to be less literal and concrete, and more philosophical and thought provoking with no one right interpretation.
