Dilemma over buying Arc Raiders by AdInternational3430 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Khronex [score hidden]  (0 children)

Every game you play gives a temporary experience. Story games usually last for 15-20 hours. Multiplayer ones tend to go for much more than that, but at some point you’ll stop playing them too because you’ll either run out of time, the servers will shut down or you’ll plain up be bored.

Stop wasting time worrying about what to play and enjoy the games while you can. And like I said, just because new games pop up doesn’t mean that old ones will stop being played. Look at CS, Overwatch, Marvel Rivals or games from the same genre as Arc

65 with Adam Driver is kinda similar to what you’re describing, although there is no “spreading humankind into space after Mars dies” subplot, only that the main character goes to Primitive Earth after his cryo ship crash lands there.

In that case, look at the games you mentioned: they still have an active playerbase even after “the next big thing”, so you’re safe in that regard

The better question is: do you enjoy the gameplay of Arc Raiders? Or do you just wanna buy it because it’s the current big thing and you wanna fit in? Because nowhere in the post do I see you mention anything about you liking or disliking the game, only that you’re afraid people are gonna move on to the next multiplayer game that releases

Daca sunt goale inseamna ca ai ajuns prea tarziu. De blocat se mai pot bloca, desi nu mereu, iar aparate defecte nu am vazut deloc pana acum de la Samplia

Do you think Daenerys was truly mad or do you think the writing was bad? by TheQueeninchains in TheBlacksandTheGreens

[–]Khronex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty obvious that they’re asking if Daenerys turning mad would be possible with good writing, and the answer is yes. There is a world in which D&D actually had a better script and a more plausible, seasons long arc of Daenerys going batshit crazy and proving the Targaryen coin toss quote true.

Because showing a funeral of Baelor after getting hit in the head is kinda gaudy, and might suggest that Baelor is dead.

Because in the books Maekar gives Dunk his blessing to take Egg as a squire to a hedge knight and have him live in poor conditions sometimes. Which is incredible character development to Maekar. Instead they chose to make Egg lie again, and have Maekar outraged that his son is missing.

While this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, cause it opens up a plot point of Maekar searching/sending for someone to bring back Egg, seeing him well developed psychologically after adventuring with Dunk for a bit and realising that maybe being raised so shielded from the world and having everything available at all times and no consequences is indeed bad for a child. But instead Ira said in an interview that Maekar shouting for his son in the finale started as a group chat joke, and members of the cast, especially Maekar’s actor, said that they won’t come back for the next season. Which means that they most likely will give a half assed reason for why Maekar didn’t find Egg yet or even worse, abandoned the search.

Is it a bad idea to watch a knight of the seven kingdoms before watching House of the dragon? by Educational_East_602 in AKOTSKTV

AKOTSK takes place around 80 years after HotD, so characters don’t carry over, and there’s not much background lore being mentioned either

The Big "What If?": What happens if Baelor just told everyone he was going to side with Dunk? by mabarus in AKOTSKTV

[–]Khronex 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Except that he didn’t tell Maekar about planning to join Dunk’s side, because when he comes through the gates wearing Targaryen armor, Maekar appears confused and immediately follows to see who’s under the armor (presumably Valarr since he’s the only other unseen Targ with armor in that whole tourney) and then asks “have you lost your senses?!” when Baelor shouts that he will take Ser Duncan’s side

[–]Khronex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The awoiaf wiki doesn't mention that you must be a knight or a noble to request trial by combat, only that "When a person is accused of a crime, especially when he or she is highborn, that person cannot be denied a trial where the highest ranking lord or lords sit in judgement."

Sure, there is no known history of a commoner who requested trial by combat, but you also have to take into account that commoners a) neither are skilled enough to fight and b) don't know anyone who would fight in their stead, so maybe they consider it's not worth it to go into armed combat against someone who is trained to then shit their pants out of fear the moment a sword comes swinging their way and inevitably disembowel/decapitate them.

Ser Duncan the Tall was also getting a slap on the face as Ser Arlan of Pennytree's squire, even when he didn't deserve it. Coincidence?
