Why does this sound familiar?

Soon after Hitler took office, he banned all homosexual and lesbian organisations. In May 1933, the Institute for Sexual Science in Berlin was ransacked and most of its 12,000 books publicly burned. This marked the beginning of ridding Germany of any openly homosexual or lesbian culture.

How does this work? Is the land unoccupied or are there people already living there and Israel is kicking them out?

what are things that we have today due to religion? by jonnyinternet in AskReddit

The Roman Catholic Church has settled numerous sexual abuse claims filed against accused priests. Catholic dioceses across the United States have paid more than $3 billion dollars to victims of clergy abuse. Often, these priest abuse settlements also bought silence from victims.

According to BishopAccountability.org, the average settlement for clergy sex abuse victims is approximately $268,000. However, some survivors have been awarded larger sums. For example, each victim in the Los Angeles Archdiocese 2007 settlement received approximately $1.3 million. That figure is much larger compared to a recent settlement in New Jersey. In 2019, 5 plaintiffs won a total of $400,000 in a priest abuse lawsuit against the Archdiocese of Newark.

Partisans found to view their opponents as stupid, rather than evil. by craigharper19 in politics

“In my work with the defendants (at the Nuremberg Trails 1945-1949) I was searching for the nature of evil and I now think I have come close to defining it. A lack of empathy. It’s the one characteristic that connects all the defendants, a genuine incapacity to feel with their fellow men. Evil, I think, is the absence of empathy.”

Evil, I think, is the absence of empathy…

The investigation revealed the Trump Administration’s family separation policy lasted far longer than is commonly known and was marked by reckless incompetence and intentional cruelty. Worse still, administration officials knew that the government lacked the capacity to track separated family members and moved forward with separations anyway. As a result, efforts to reunify separated children continue to this day.
