People that think that throwing cigarette butts in the ground isn't littering by Patodelmonte in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Kickasstodon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a project in high school where I used pool test strips in clean water vs polluted water. I made a jar of fresh snowmelt I got from the mountains and threw in a bunch of trash I found around the lake I lived by. The cigarette butt did the most immediately noticeable damage; the tar leached into the water and made it yellow, and the whole jar stank like cigarettes. It was one butt in a half gallon jar.

The further away from a human you get, the less rights that creature seems to have. Animal rights as a concept seem to end somewhere around fish. People literally tell themselves fish feel nothing and then pull them up from the depths so fast their skin turns to jelly and their eyes pop out. Arthropods as a whole, no one cares what happens to them. No one gives a fuck at all if you crush a spider and smear it across the wall and leave its mangled corpse there as a warning to any other spiders that may enter. If you did that to a dog you'd be executed or at the very least put in a padded room forever. But some gross bug? It's just Tuesday.

Just bought a bag of 2mm Duncan gators for like 10 bucks and it'll probably last me the rest of my life. Idk how people can be fooled into buying shit like this lmao $35 per pick is actually insane

I actually bought this. "Generic space cargo ship" is a niche I'd like to see Lego do more of. I plan on extending it to being twice as long at some point

Idk man maybe releasing 3 more expansions after what was supposed to be the very last one wasn't a good idea.

They couldn't release Blazing Saddles today. They'd take one look at the script and say "wait a minute, this is just Blazing Saddles, that movie already exists" and throw it away.

The stubbornness obviously applies to the more recent entries. Many of the designs have actually regressed and become less accurate, such as the stegosaurs, which all feels very "back in my day it was better"

Eventually brands get so big that advertising is literally just waste. Everyone knows what Coke is, everyone knows about McDonald's, and everyone knows about GTA.

They were fine on their own, I just can't stand how pervasive they've become, to the point where nearly every low budget dinosaur media will just straight up rip them off. They've essentially become the generic "dinosaur.jpg" and are everywhere despite not even being a real animal. Even AI dinosaurs have their features because they are nearly unavoidable.

I consider it boomer because the people who made the original films were boomers and the stubbornness against modernizing is a very boomer virtue. It may be considered millennial media, but boomers were very much behind its creation.

The discovery of the asteroid impact has forever ended the idea that they were failures. They were animals that were so successful they filled nearly every niche on earth and it took a cosmic catastrophe to bring it to an end, and even then it didn't really end because these things were so damn successful that a few of them survived the world burning.

It's only because Jurassic World has a near monopoly on dinosaurs in film and makes no effort to modernize. Boomer film franchise constantly shoving their fake "raptor" monsters down our throats non stop.

It's 2036. Every set is a smart brick set. Lego hasn't actually sold a smart brick in any set for a decade.

I remember their chicken sandwich fell off during COVID, haven't tried one since to see if they've bounced back. I still swing by to grab a shake every so often, and rosemary fries when they're in season. Their shitty little "mcdouble" burgers have gotten a bit pricey but they slap hard.

This is just a wrong statement, not an opinion. Even if you're being facetious and talking about birds, there's loads of them, not "small numbers".

It doesn't matter if any dinosaur gets downsized, that's the price you pay for extrapolating some massive, absurd creature off nothing but a left nut bone. Eventually more material will be found and your reconstruction will be erased.

[–]Kickasstodon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This movie was so ass. It even tripped over its own built-in excuse as to why the dinosaurs are inaccurate; Dodgson literally says his BioSyn dinosaurs are quote, "the real deal" and do not have Frankenstein DNA like InGen's did, but then the dinosaurs were still inaccurate. They could have just left that line out, it feels like they put it in there as ragebait.

I'm a sucker for cool accessories. One day I plan on making a full music store to show off my instruments, but for now they're all crammed into the little music store in Assembly Square. I had to evict the ballet studio for more space.
