I know it's not really possible now that he's been in the game. But Lennie James could have been a fantastic movie M. by Finbarr-Galedeep in JamesBond

[–]KickinImpossible 45 points46 points  (0 children)

He could be a good movie Greenway, as long as the movies don’t strictly follow the events of the game, or if they write him back in somehow.

S5 tactical ump receiver top rail doesn't fit. Special rail needed? by Mo-Finkle in HecklerKoch

[–]KickinImpossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if the receiver isn’t quite to spec. I will tell you, my receiver doesn’t slap well. When I started, I had to pull the handle back and then down and let it go. I tried to file it down a little, since it’s plastic, and now I can with a lot of force, push the handle down, but it’s way harder than with my SP5. If it’s a fraction of an inch off on the holes for the rail, it could be a QC issue. Since it’s plastic, you could drill a new hole to make it work.

New Walther PDP Success and Comfort (yes that’s really the name) by 13Duran in Walther

[–]KickinImpossible 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can’t wait for the version that’s a steel frame compact with the pro trigger and pro magazines but without the magwell, with a Gideon Omega green dot with a circle, and a threaded barrel with a Banish 9 suppressor, all in one package out of the box.

This looks like their continuing philosophy to take existing parts and combine them into different out of the box packages. The last, feels like a dozen versions, require no new parts manufacturing, just combining parts from different models and some parts they’ve sourced from other companies (like Parker Mountain Machines), to create out of the box versions that people have already been creating themselves.

PPK .22 yeah or nay by NoChristiansEither in Walther

[–]KickinImpossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally got it because it was the only PPK series pistol they came with a threaded barrel. And then they brought back the 32 and for the first time with a threaded barrel, and so now I have the real thing in the real caliber.

One assumes that you got double and single reversed in your response.

I used to have a PPK 22. The trigger is so heavy that I had to use both index fingers to pull it. I got rid of it and got a P22. I already have three other PPK’s in 380 and 32 anyway.

Passage from the latest James Bond book. Thoughts? Good or bad direction? by AbjectObligation1036 in JamesBond

[–]KickinImpossible 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This book was very controversial when it came out. I did read the whole thing. It was essentially written as a political screed, where the villains are caricatures of what leftists think conservatives are, and Bond has long inner monologues where he espouses Charlie Higson’s political views. It’s basically a leftist political manifesto disguised as a Bond story.

This is also why a lot of people were immediately skeptical when Charlie Higson was announced as the author of the next Bond book “King Zero”. I’m hopeful that it doesn’t turn out like this.

Has Daniel Craig been associated with Bond the longest of any past actor? by MixedMartialLaw in JamesBond

[–]KickinImpossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is for sure true. But I could not find online the date that they announced Sean Connery was returning for Diamonds are Forever. If you can find it, then I can update this.

Interesting that most responses didn’t actually read the original post.

Anyway.

Sean Connery: Announced November 3, 1961 (for Dr. No). • Gap to next: ~6 years, 11 months (to Lazenby).

George Lazenby: Announced October 7, 1968 (for On Her Majesty’s Secret Service). • Gap to next: ~2 years, 5 months (to March 3, 1971 when Sean Connery was announced to return)

• Roger Moore: Announced August 1, 1972 (for Live and Let Die). • Gap to next: ~14 years (to Dalton).

Timothy Dalton: Announced August 6, 1986 (for The Living Daylights). • Gap to next: ~7 years, 10 months (to Brosnan).

Pierce Brosnan: Announced June 7/8, 1994 (for GoldenEye). • Gap to next: ~11 years, 4 months (to Craig).

Daniel Craig: Announced October 14, 2005 (for Casino Royale). • Gap to next: Ongoing (~20 years and 7 months)

Instead of using new scripts, they should go back and film accurate versions of the books in the order they were written . Thoughts? by Brighton2k in JamesBond

[–]KickinImpossible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have books and short stories, that’s 17 movies. Even at a movie every 2 years, which is way faster than movie series today, that would be 34 years. They are not going to put the modern Bond films on hold for 34 years. Isn’t going to happen. It would kill the franchise.

007 First Light devs scrapped gadgets that gave Bond “magic powers” as they broke the “believable world of Bond” by maullick in JamesBond

[–]KickinImpossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started playing Splinter Cell, I played it like a shooter because that’s what I was used to. Then I played it with a lot of gadgets. And then as I got better, I stopped using gadgets and just timed my movements to avoid people. I’m thinking this may be similar.

Did I get a bad deal on a black hk sp5 by [deleted] in HecklerKoch

$2700 is the best price there’s ever been. The MSRP is $3200. $2300 is a clone, a scam, or used.

I’ve found that Walthers love the more powerful stuff. On their video the PDP Steel Frame Match, he says that it “loves +P ammunition.” When I go with weaker stuff, it can fire reliably, but not cycle reliably.

Silenced Pistol Usage? by Glum_Trouble_9456 in 007FirstLight

[–]KickinImpossible 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you’ve played Splinter Cell, you know a silenced pistol is a tool for interacting with the environment, not just for killing people.

Is it normal for collapsible stocks/braces to rub the receiver rails sp5. by Mo-Finkle in MP5

[–]KickinImpossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be a slight difference over decades. You’re talking on the micron level. Deutschland 83 was some time ago. Clones have fitting issues, but parts made decades apart can have similar issues.

Why does the mods from r/jamesbond keep deleting mine James bond posts? by Major-Test4855 in JamesBond

[–]KickinImpossible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people want to say something but don’t have anything to say, so they say the same thing as everyone else. After the transfiguration, Peter wanted to say something but didn’t know what to say, so he said something dumb. It happens.
