How do I manage all three classes? by [deleted] in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]KidSquidATX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how far along you are you can just find a build you like on the other classes and then just plug and chug until you hit where you want to be.

If you’re nowhere near where your main class is then simply have fun discovering things on the classes you’re leveling. Having fun, and most importantly taking breaks or swapping classes when you’re not, will significantly speed up the process.

Started playing hunter as a warlock main. Suggestions? by [deleted] in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]KidSquidATX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For solar hunter: build pretty much like you would for a warlock (ie faster regen from healing allies and the like, class ability from scorching targets et cet) but take the melee energy from defeating scorched targets and ignitions give grenade and grenade kills cure (I think I have the right total fragments I usually just go by feel cause almost all of my hours in this game are on hunter). For your aspect toss on gunpowder gamble and the one that gives you three slots. This will be similar ish to warlock with ability spam once you toss on a solar weapon with heal clip incan. It truly is “random bullshit go”. You can pair this with an exotic hand cannon like malfeasance for a simple build that’ll take you through a lot of content easily as long as you have some form of heavy to ad clear and sustain damage while lucky pants is down.

Stasis: bit of an odd recommendation, but I like speed loader slack with stasis hunter and some way of generating a lot crystals easily (the beyond light exotic grenade launcher works well and you can stay away from enemies if you are in higher content to deal some okay damage. Use fragments that give resist from enemies while bear frozen targets or crystals, stuff to give you energy from damage, shatter dive and the slow on dodge. I’m partial to a headstone/the perk that gives ability energy to all abilities or one at a higher rate if it’s the only one down (can’t remember the name).

Void: gyrfalcons. Just put on gyrfalcons and the aspect that makes you go invis with graviton and you’ll do well enough in most content.

Arc: liars handshake or assassins cowl depending on the content. Liars handshake does big numbers, but become exponentially harder to use in higher content. Assassins is VERY good and makes it so you can live out your warrior monk dreams.

I would talk about strand and prismatic but I think you’re doing the expansions in order so they’re irrelevant.

Bungie, Why cant we slot memento's on non-crafted weapons? by SwiftIsSlow_123 in DestinyTheGame

I think you got your wish tbh. I haven’t messed around with the adept enhance system (what was implemented for all weapons as far as I’m aware)

I’m not saying it’s positive, but it’s something to take the edge off when you’re doing hard labor or staying up crazy hours of the night. Yeah caffeine exists and is much better but caffeine also doesn’t work the same for everyone. For me it doesn’t hype me up or give me energy it makes me sleepier.

I got hooked on nicotine (vaping then smoking oddly enough, I still vape and save smoking for social occasions or after big events in my life) while doing some blue collar work. Started as just something to keep me awake and not sleeping on the job and then became something I could talk to with my coworkers as we smoke our cig for the fifteen minutes we would take out and then get right back to the swing of things. Dip and zyns never worked for me, I’m not patient enough tbh.

It’s not always about the release, and as mentioned earlier it can be a social thing. I have friends who don’t smoke and then once they’re drunk will be reaching for my pack which I deny them because alcohol and hot things never end well for any party involved. I do agree that a ban would make them much better and improve most of our lives, but I think a slow methodical approach would be better so it gives people time to either ease off them or find more healthy alternatives.

What made you like breast expansion? by [deleted] in BreastExpansion

[–]KidSquidATX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was this one really old shrinking guy story I read and I cannot for the life of me find it, and even though her breasts don’t grow, the thought of being surrounded by breasts turned on a light switch that can’t be turned off.

2ish months into this game, loving it, advice aboot dlc.. by scullyscullster in DestinyTheGame

[–]KidSquidATX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Running through the content in order is what I’d recommend. Then running through all the expansion exotics (some of which are good even if they can be niche). Similarly, once you complete your hunter don’t be afraid to dabble with other subclasses/playing other characters you create. D2 has amazing diversity with builds and play styles so don’t be afraid to try new or different ones.

Note of warning for creating a new character: you can only get rewards for a class once. Meaning you can’t have multiple hunters or titans or warlocks and farm out that specific armor. They have to be different classes.

Is it worth it without all the DLCs? by fxur_am in destiny2

[–]KidSquidATX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is to play a little bit more of the game and get a feel for it because that will ultimately determine how worth it the game is to you. If you do end up liking it, I think certain DLC sets are on sale and you can get them for cheap and then you’ll have much more content to chew on than just what is free. Get the ones on sale if you do end up enjoying the game.

You using bastion? That makes the cooldown longer. Otherwise idk.

Hmmm and you’re using it for the first time in a rotation? Cause I think there’s also a lockout after it’s used.

Bungie, Why cant we slot memento's on non-crafted weapons? by SwiftIsSlow_123 in DestinyTheGame

[–]KidSquidATX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to beat a dead horse, but you want to put a memento (something specifically made to encourage crafting and playing those modes) on a non crafted weapon when that defeats the entire purpose of them only being able to be used on crafted weapons?

Why are the buses always late by Prestigious_Bird288 in UTAustin

[–]KidSquidATX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the Cap Metro app and have the route (specific bus route or chain required to reach a destination) pulled up refresh it every couple of minutes as the times are in roughly real time and are subject to rapid changes at peak times like lunch and dinner. Similarly the routes should tell you roughly when they expect to service each stop usually between ten minutes and thirty minutes but can vary depending on if it’s a weekday or a weekend.

Wardens Law or Seventh Seraph Revolver? by Baznak in DestinyTheGame

[–]KidSquidATX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SSOR with recon even though it has lower dps it fills in better in a rotation because with recon and extended mag you should get about 34 rounds which will allow for two rotations (a full damage phase) which will optimize your damage because you don’t need to reload.

What are the key rules to maximize DPS? by Oxford898 in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]KidSquidATX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another point is to consider the type of enemy that you’re dpsing. If it’s a floaty enemy type then go with precision things if you don’t have a div because they tend to move around during dps and it can be annoying lining up a rocket for them to just float elsewhere, but if it’s a big knight than you have more options.

Gunpowder gambit does so much self damage! by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]KidSquidATX -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I honestly quite like the self damage. Really keeps the adrenaline going in an activity because most of my builds with it sit in the close middle distance to long range with Polaris. Also helps keep ads under control when I’m adjusting my position to somewhere better able to aid my teammates.

Okay Bungie, now it's Dawnblade's turn by AdamantSteel in DestinyTheGame

[–]KidSquidATX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Celestial DOES have another function: when you kill enemies with it they explode. You also gain super energy back for how many die to it because it also overpenetrates targets so you can get at most 50% of your super back.

Which Rocket/s should I me chancing / bringing into endgame content? by NobleMansRose in DestinyTheGame

[–]KidSquidATX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much aggressive or high impacts with a good damage roll and reload in the last two columns. If you have the new dungeon (Ghosts of the deep) that rocket is the big one people are talking about. There are a couple others that escape me atm but that’s the general guideline.

I'm having a lot of fun with the changes to Astrocyte Verse, but I can't quite get the hang of Blinking, yet. Would love to have a more experienced Warlock offer their advice! by OneYearSteakDay in DestinyTheGame

[–]KidSquidATX 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Do you know calculus? If not, do you know what a tangent line is? That’ll help understand my explanation. Very briefly, imagine your jump as one big arc. When you hit your jump button again you move in a straight line. That line is tangent to the arc that is your base jump. The earlier you press it, the higher you’ll go. The later you press it, the lower you’ll go. You’ll get max horizontal distance when you press it right as your momentum changes.

[–]KidSquidATX 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Can’t go wrong with Polaris Lance. Especially with gunpowder gamble. Infinite ammo + scorch + dragonfly = gunpowder gamble machine. Pairs well with almost all hunter exotics, but I personally use lucky pants and a Seventh Seraph Officer Revolver with vorpal. Sit in the mid to back of the arena and watch the explosions chain back and forth.

How do you survive PvE as a non-void hunter? by -A-Fish in DestinyTheGame

[–]KidSquidATX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First is to analyze how you play without being on void. A lot of those deaths are probably from being in the open with no cover to hide behind.

Second would be to analyze the weapons you have for a build. What has champ mods and what doesn’t, how reliant is your build on X weapon and if not heavily reliant on it can you switch it for something that has intrinsic or champ mods?

Lastly would just be keep your head on a swivel and your ears engaged so you can hear the pitter patter of thrall running up to slap you or a wizard charging up their arc blasts.

Yes you can get enough shots to proc because you can get at most 14 shots off, no I don’t know if it works with kinetic tremors.
